If you book this hotel you should bear in mind that you need a car to reach either Düsseldorf or Ratingen town centres. Public transport is available, however it takes quite a while to get you to the town centres, whereas you just need 15 minutes to reach Düsseldorf or even Essen by car.
To start with the pros, public areas and my room were perfectly clean and well maintained, also staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking situation is really not as bad as described in previous reviews. I used to come back to the hotel at various times between 2pm and 1 am and could always park near the ebtrance although the hotel was fully booked.
Now the cons...I was woken up at 5:30 pm by some humming noise which stayed on for hours and seemed to be coming from the hotel, not outside. Heating is not working properly, radiator was piping hot, however the room didn't get really warm. Also in the bathroom there is no heating, just a heating lamp which you can switch on for max. 15 minutes.
All in all I would stay here again, but only with earplugs and not when it's freezing outside.
