I stayed in the hotel in July 2011 for 4 nights. Its location is ideal for business trips and is close to the to Dusseldrof Airport. Short 5 min taxi takes you from the Airport to the Hotel. It is not suited for family or couple vacations as it based in a business industrial estate, with the cloest amenity being McDonalds and Burger King restaurants a few minutes walk away. It takes approx a 10 min taxi to Ratingen town or a bus journey to Dusseldorf. The hotel is clean, spacious rooms with all your requirements, friendly staff and good food on offer for breakfast and evening meals.

Having to stay at this hotel usually every two weeks for 4 nights, I feel in good position to comment. The hotel is best suited for business travel and not vacation stays. The rooms offer a range of accommodation to the large studios to smaller value rooms. Within the rooms the only negative is I dislike the pillows.
WiFi access is chargeable, but if you request a cable from reception then wired internet from the rooms is free.
The bar offers good selection of drinks, especially the local Frankenheim Alt beer. The restaurant offers a good range of foods although somewhat pricey. If you want German food I advise for you to visit the old town in Ratingen, as the restaurant has a nore international flavour.
Parking is free and the staff are friendly

I was at a convention (the Messe) and this was about all we could get. Although convenient to the airport - it still took us 45 minutes to get to the hotel because of Taxi waits. I would either stay near Messe if I could- for a convention- or better book the Sheraton right at the airport!

The hotel was clean- the room key only worked about half the time-causing me to trudge back to the desk (apparently the mechanism was flawed) but the hotel was full and I was stuck. The work out facility was non existent- a few crummy bikes and worn out treadmill- something to photograph to say "this hotel has a workout facility". There is a McFit about 2 kilometers away- but you cannot get a guest pass until 8 am.

The restaurant is okay- had breakfast there-standard Euro bufffet. Room okay- small and spartan. no complaints. The rates during Medica were of course outrageous.

Previous reviews did not bear any resemblance with our experience of the hotel, and are, in any event, not very recent; so this update will hopefully prove useful to readers. We booked the hotel as a 'blind' purchase from Lastminute.com, and it was an excellent buy at £40 for 1 night. Tryp is a good 4* facility, modern, very stylish, in excellent condition and with a very good restaurant and bar. Service was friendly, helpful and very efficient. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. I really liked the atmosphere and smart design.

It is about 10 minutes by taxi from DUS airport, so you can add 2 x €15 fares to the cost, which has to be considered. The location is in a smart commercial business park, close to shops and a McDonalds and Burger King if this is of interest, though the food was excellent in the hotel. Wired internet is fast and free, and chargeable WiFi through T Mobile available. Breakfast was quite pricey at €18 each, but again, was very comprehensive, and extremely good quality, if you needed it. They do a cheaper continental style quick breakfast if you fly early.

This was a very quiet, good airport overnight transit hotel, at an excellent price, with excellent facilities and service. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it and will certainly use it again if passing through Dusseldorf overnight.
