Stayed at this Hotel twice,on a coach trip to Hamburg,on way there and on way back.Very clean,efficient,room was just right.Swimming pool was lovely just what you need after long journey.Breakfast was everything you expect and plenty of it.The Hotel is right in the middle of Hamm and near all the shops,very nice mall and eating places

we stayed at the Mercure hotel Hamm purely as a gateway for transport connections to other regions of Germany.
we found the hotel to be really nice although the air conditioning in the rooms was basically useless as it didnt do a thing.....lucky for us it was cold while we were staying there and we never needed it.
the rooms were of an average size and the bathroom was also just as fine.
the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the Hamm Hauptbahnhof but the city itself is quite boring although it has a decent pedestrianised street with some nices cafes and shops.

Have been using this hotel for a number of years for both overnights and significant conferences and meetings. Its very well located for our needs - close to a main-line railway station and major north south motorways.

Parking is easy - underneath the hotel - but a little pricey. The hotel is well maintained and very accommodating of our needs.

Rooms are cold in winter and hot in summer - air con is not effective - and the showers seem to be too hot and too cold - hence Dance of the sugar-plum fairies as you have to keep hopping in and out of the water stream to avoid being frozen or boiled alive.

It has a very significant problem though - smoking. Smoke is literally everywhere - with food, in the conference areas, in recption and in the bar. Food is OK - neither wonderful nor terrible - but usually too salty for my taste.

We were here for my wife's family reunion and accommodations were arranged by others. We did decide to spend an extra night here. The A/C didn'at seem to function that well, but we figured out how to open the window and that was fine. The food was very good. The hotel is within walking distance from the bahnhof, although a taxi is in order if you have heavy luggage to deal with.
