“Good place to stay in Braunlage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2010

We decided to head to Braunlage for a snow and ski weekend and picked the Maritim hotel for its pool, proximity to the lifts and the review we have read about it.
Our room was a standard room, our 5 year old stayed for free and the large and delicious breakfast buffet was included. We had to pay 11 Euros a day for parking but it had the advantage of being indoors and heated. The car stayed at a balmy 13 degrees C, while it was -5 deg. C. outside!
The views from the Hotel are great and the pool was quite nice. We found the restaurant to be a bit pricey, but room service and the pub are more budget friendly.
We liked that the hotel had sleds to loan out for free allowing us to go down the 2km sled piste.
Guests will notice the 1970's lodge feel of the place but it is quaint and amusing at once.

“very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2008

This is our second stay here and as before we think the hotel is good and very well priced. Rooms are large and well furnished with great views over the village/ mountain, location is excellent near the cable car. Friendly staff and great (but pricey) breakfasts, good facilities and nice pool. Some of the bathrooms are very 1970s but not a problem.

“fantastic snow weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2006

We stayed in this hotel durend the Continental Cup at the last weekend in January 06. The whole village was very busy - so was the hotel. Location is ideal for wintersports, just a couple of minutes walking distance to the cable car (brings you up the hill) - the view from our room 918 was outstanding. Poolarea is spacious but gets busy in the afternoon (well, there were more than 650 people staying each night during that weekend). 2 small saunas and a good gym are available as well. Breakfast was above average, we didn't stay there for dinner but went up to the night club on the 10th floor. Good cocktails, live band and the view made this place ideal before going to bed. Carparking at €10 per day on site (garage and outside spaces). Be aware, that the hotel was built in 1973 and you can the the age at some places (bathrooms, decor, lifts)

Overall, we had a great time there, staff was helpful and pleasant and we will go back there next year.

“Okay, but not excellent”

A very large hotel which dominates the silhouette of the town. Built in the 70s, and many features remain. Rooms as well as swimming pool area are in need of some refurbishing. Friendly service, many guest activities, several restaurants/bar/etc. All in all recommendable.
