We had booked a week's golf course at the Hartl Resort in Bad Griesbach and the Fürstenhof is one of the resort's hotels. The positive points of the Fürstenhof are: excellent cuisine, wonderful staff, first class service, great location, nicely decorated hotel, spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sunbathing terrace and garden, underground parking. All of this in a truly beautiful resort. Upon checking in, we received a resort's "credit card" that we could use to pay for everything during our stay in the resort, included in all their many golf courses and shops, which is very convenient. The downpoints for us were: room rather small for the price we paid. The bathroom was extremely small. Impossible to be in there with two persons at the same time. If you wanted to take a shower (in the bathtub, no separate shower) you had to close the door first in order to climb into the tub. Soap distributors in the bathroom very difficult to use. I had to use both hands and press very hard to get a tiny drop of soap out of them. I then asked the staff to undo them from their holders, to make it somewhat easier, but in the end, I just bought a bottle of shampoo. Room very hot (outside temp. being 30°C) and NO airco. Thus we had to sleep with the windows open. However, our room gave unto the very noisy restaurant terrace, which was unpleasant, although staff did their best to get guests to clear the terrace around 10:30 pm. And before 7:00 am the noise of tables being set would wake us. But we were there to play golf anyway, so the early wake up call was no problem to us. Also, a thing to keep in mind is that there is no outside parking available at all. Therefore underground parking lot is more or less obligatory. Charge is 5€ per day.
Personally, we would not go back to this hotel, though we rather enjoyed our stay there, in spite of the lack of sleep. We would however recommend it, if one is prepared to overlook the downpoints.
