Pension St Leonhard is a traditional Bavarian guest house 1km east of the attractive market town of Murnau. The town - 70km south of Munich - is best known for its lake, Staffelsee.
Our room was immaculately clean and spacious with an excellent shower. A splendid breakfast buffet is served in a delightful dining room.
The only drawback is the church clock right across the road which chimes noisily every hour thorugh the night. Bring earplugs!
The owners do not speak English. The guest house does not serve evening meals, but there are lots of restaurants in Murnau. We'd recommend Cafe Centro in the high street.
We paid 70 Euros for the room on a one-night stay booked by e-mail. Definitely good value.
