We were in Freising in January 2012 for a post-Christmas wedding and we stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. We would gladly have stayed longer, the room was so comfortable and the staff so courteous, welcoming, and helpful. The son of the owner was especially welcoming, making you feel like family! I don't speak German, but everyone on the staff spoke at least a bit of English, and the people at reception were fluent. The hotel is impeccable, our very big double room had a couch, coffee table and two arm chairs, and a small desk and chair. (Number 67). The beds were nice and firm, the eiderdowns light and warm. There was a big, traditional Christmas tree in the lobby, fresh fruit at the reception desk (apples, clementines and grapes). We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant -- it was closed for the January 6th holiday! But we found an excellent substitute called Huber Weisses -- a typical Bavarian inn with an extensive choice of dishes, excellent cuisine, family-friendly. To get there: when you leave the hotel, turn left, walk to the end of the street, turn left again and it is ahead of you on a little square! The restaurant has a website too. I agree with all of the positive comments about the hotel written by other reviewers and like them I highly recommend this hotel. It should be noted that the hotel is in a pedestrian zone, yet is accessible from the airport or train station by taxi (there are lots of taxis at the train station, by the way.) But for the uninformed, the access is not at all easy -- you should perhaps contact the hotel before you arrive, asking for information to give to the taxi driver explaining how to get there! Our taxi driver from the airport had a hard time finding the ONE entrance to the city center for automobiles, although eventually we made it.
