A terrible hotel, dirty and dated rooms, poor service, very few amenities, hidden extras push up the price.

We stayed here for a week and were shocked with the hotel. The first problem is getting to the hotel involves driving through a residential street and can take a long time, nothing about this is on their website and be warned you need a license to drive down that road that you only get after booking in! Next problem was the hidden parking charge, they say there is parking but don't mention they are going to charge 7.50 euro per day, other hotels are free! Then there is a town tax at another 4 euro a day that they forget to mention till check out.

Next problem was the dated room which was dirty. Wardrobes hadn't been dusted in years, strange things could grow in the mini bar (as there was no bottle opener that was useless anyway), stains on the carpet and for a non smoking room it stank of cigarettes. The double bed was simply two single beds pushed together with 2 tiny single duvets.

Quite simply it was massively over priced for such a poor hotel. There are plenty of cheaper hotels that look much better nearby, choose one of them instead.

This hotel was lovely and friendly with stunning views. The staff were excellent, going the extra mile to be helpful. Our room was well equipped, if a little bit dated. The bathroom had plenty of towels and they were changed daily.
The breakfast was excellent and was included in the price. The dinner menu was also good and well priced. A fabulous choice of cocktails added to the stay.
The pool was smallish but pretty and there were sensible rules about when children could be noisy.
I enjoyed a wonderful massage in the spa--well worth it.
All in all my husband and I enjoyed our stay here.

The Maritim is a chain Ive always liked staying with so I elected to stay at the Maritim Titiseehotel when I returned to the titisee area. The hotel has a beautiful location- right on the lake but very poorly maintained!.
The service was below average, no wifi internet, not even facilities for making a cup of tea or coffee in the room. The rooms had a good view but no privacy.
The restaurant was pathetic and barring breakfast , I dont recall a single good meal i ate there. That , however , is not a problem because there is fabulous food to be found at the nearby cafes and restaurants at the neighbouring hotel.
I booked my room through the "secure.booking.com" site and was so disappointed with the service, food and amenities at the hotel tha I elected to move out after 2 days. Despite the fact, that I gave them a days notice, and an email from securebooking.com that I needed to pay only the amount for 2 days , they insisted on taking a 100 euro extra from me as a penalty!. I spoke to the manager and he was most rude , high handed and unhelpful!
I moved out and went to the neighbouring Romantik Hotel which was delightful. My complete congratulations to the Romantik Hotel , the owner and all the staff was resurrecting my holiday which the Maritim did its best to destroy.
In conclusion, the Maritim Titiseehotel has no marketing strategy and despite being in a service oriented industry has no idea how to ensure that the customer returns again and again,

Travel was difficult on the day of our arrival because of a massive Black Forest snow storm which dumped well over a foot of snow on Titisee and the surrounding area. We arrived late and were assigned rooms without delay. I was assigned to room 326 in this chalet-style hotel on the shores of the lake. I had a balcony without much of a view, but the sight of the snow falling and collecting on evergreens nearby was stunning.

The room was very comfortable with a full-sized bed, excellent lighting, easy chair, large desk, full closet with shelving and hanging space, dressing area, and fully stocked mini bar. Walls are stucco, parchment-type lamp shades, and William Morris design print draperies provide a bit of warmth. All was fresh and clean.

The bath was comfy and included a tub/shower. Small, but efficient, there was plenty of room for toiletries. No soap or shampoo, but facecloth was provided. I should point out that soap is considered unhygenic by the Bavarian people. Shower wash is provided instead, so pack a few soaps when you visit if you like to use them.

Amenities include robe and pool towel, in room movies, a flat screen TV. The pool is gorgeous - as are the public rooms on the reception floor. The two elevators are fast and efficient. The seating areas in the lobby are plentiful and offer fine views of the lake.

The bar is stylish and friendly, and the dining room is very good. Tables are intimately arranged with lamps on each table and the breakfast buffet was the best I've had in the Bavarian area. There were two kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, Swedish meatballs, smoked fish, wursts, cold meats, and salad fixings. There were multiple types of rolls, croissants, breads, and muffins and a dozen types of marmelades and jellies to accompany. Cheeses were lovely and juice, coffee, tea, and even cereal were stylishly presented and quite delicious. The breakfast alone is well worth the price of staying at this hotel. I highly recommend.

Titisee is a tiny little town, but there is plenty of shopping. Most stores don't open until 10 Am.
