“Terrible reception service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

I was on a business trip to Germany. My company booked the hotel room for a meeting we had in Ettlingen with many colleagues staying at the same place. Unfortunately I forgot my wallet and even if my company booked and they had all guarantee, they would not let me in the room prior having the credit card information. I had to wait 2 hours sitting in the lobby prior my wife going home to give me the card information. On top of it, the hotel is very loud between 2 motorways and if you don't have a car, there is no possibilities to have dinner or a drink somewhere.

“Nice hotel, very helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed at the beginning of October, was upgraded to a business class room due to a function at the lobby. Very kind gesture. The gym at the hotel is terrible, it was used as a part storage part gym room. And the swimming pool is very small. Restaurant served really good food, a tad expensive but very nice selection.

“Only positive feelings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We liked the hotel. Although it's quite old design in the room, but it was clean and not worn out.
The pool is working until 11 p.m. and water temperature is 29 C, which was really great for our kid. Good selection for breakfast. There is free parking zone just few meters from the hotel, in case you do not like to pay 9 euro for parking by the hotel.

“Excellent, great staff. Housekeeping the only letdown.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

I stayed in this hotel for almost a week, with a fighter at the time of some kickboxing championships. The hotel was full of martial artists from all over the world but they seemed to cope very well and all of our service was excellent with few exceptions.

One was that when I arrived they wouldnt give me a bottle of water at the bar in the lobby because a credit card hadn't been put on the room to guarantee it. This was very annoying after an 8 hour flight and a 90 minute drive from Frankfurt.

Housekeeping staff assumed we weren't in and continually opened the door and walked straight into the room with a passing tap on the door which was extremely intrusive so remember to put your Do Not Disturb on the door if you are in the room. They also neglected to clean our room on the last day.

The breakfast and lunch staff were great, especially Fabian, and made changes to accomodate our circumstances, they even took some photos of the manager with my partner (who is quite famous in the fighting world) and all signed a big card for us to take away as a souvenir.

Great breakfast and good lunch menu with a little terrace outside. The hotel is quite isolated though, so not a good place if you'd like to be able to walk down the street.

“Perfectly engineered windows”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

The hotel is very near a motorway. However, this is Germany and only in Germany (or perhaps Scandinavia) will you see examples of near perfect engineering. When you shut the windows you hear NOTHING from outside. If you open the windows you hear the noisy motorway. This is the way that hotels should be mad. I spent a long time analyzin the windows to try to figure out how they did it. Were they triple glazed or double glazed and what thickness of glass was in them? After this visit I came home to England and tried to get a meister to fit me german windows. In the end it was cheaper to import Finnish windows and retrofit them myself. I went for the "kastenfenster" variety (not the strategy of the hotel for the windows here appeared to be thin). The staff could not tell me who chose/designed and fitted such wonderful windows. Other than that the hotel is a very nice place for a stay. I stopped on my way back from Eastern Europe to England, a 30 day road trip with the family!
