Built right into the old Tor and wall, this hotel was a joy. I suspect every room is as unusual as ours - fit into the wall with one side looking out on to the platz and the other to the other side of town. The suite had a sitting room on one level (along with the bath) and the bedroom was up a "circular" stairway in the loft. Once you got used to the sloping roof in the bedroom every thing was great. Breakfast in hotel was good. There is a small bar and sitting area out on the platz. Parking was available in front or in the parking garage across the street. Enjoyed being able to stroll the market area (car free during the day) and pick a place to eat or drink and then stroll back to the hotel.

Klassik Hotel am Tor was the first hotel on the GPS for local amenities and boy are we glad we found it. It was a bit pricey but then we had the suite, with hot tub, and we showed up sans reservation.

The staff were excellent and the rooms are well renovated. Breakfast was a good german feast. Weidon turned out to be a fun little town/city to explore.

I was here for two weeks on a business trip and stayed here again with my colleagues. They completely renovated the old (not nearly as old as the 13th century Tower!) floor I recently stayed on and they made some terrific improvements. The room was large, with two beds, a big desk, refrigerator and a large flat screen tv!
The staff was very friendly, providing restaurant recommendations, helpful hints, and overall very pleasant.
The breakfast is very good. If you ask, they'll make you an omelet! It's not on the menu, but it is included!
They have limited parking in front of the hotel, but parking in the nearby garage is complimentary, you just need to have the hotel validate your ticket.
Also, while internet is not included, they do offer a substantial discount on internet access through T-Mobile.
They do have a bar which is open during the evening, but no lunch or dinner, just a very expansive, and delicious breakfast!

Just returned from an amazing visit to Germany, We stayed at the Klassik Hotel while visiting family in the area. Hotel is clean and centrally located in the beautiful town of Weiden. Hotel staff made us feel welcome and were always available to assist us with questions regarding the area. Great location with many shops and restaurants within the market square. Would definately stay here again!!!
