the Gasthaus was hands down the best place I've stayed in Germany. The food DELICIOUS (booked half board, so had breakfast and dinner provided!) and plentiful! Breakfast was a feast, and my family and I enjoyed many "eggs from happy chickens". All the food we had at the gasthaus was fresh and perfect. Rooms were big, beds comfy, even my single room had a lovely view out the window - what else can you ask for?
Would definitely recommend people stay if they were looking to visit anywhere on the Rhine. :D

This guesthouse was the best, and we loved every minute we spent there. Paul and his family made us feel welcome...like we were part of the family, and the food and wine were wunderbar! Also, Christa, the breakfast hostess, was so friendly and made the most delicious breakfast cakes. She also made some sightseeing suggestions which turned out to be "delicious"! The only thing I wish would be different about our stay at the Gasthaus Stahl was that we could have stayed longer. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Thank you to Paul and his family and staff for a memorable stay. We hope to come back soon!

We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Gasthaus Weingut Stahl. The location is wonderful - in a charming quiet village away from all the train noises along the Rhine. Our rooms were fantastic, and were spotlessly clean. The bathrooms were modern and well equipped. Breakfast was simply amazing, and Krista, our breakfast hostess, kept forcing us to try her home-made cakes !!. We ate dinner out on the deck of the restaurant both nights and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Paul is a very friendly and helpful host. He serves his brother's wines in the restaurant, and encouraged us to head down to the cellar for tastings. We could not fault this hotel, and would heartily recommend it. It would be best to have a car if you are staying there however.

Lovely family run hotel. Room was spacious and very clean. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious as was breakfast. Wine tasting in the cellars after dinner was great fun and we left heavily laden with bottles from the family vineyard the next day. The hotel is outside the main Oberwessel town which is a 5 minute drive down a steepish hill. A fondly remembered stopover on our recent driving trip around Europe.
