“Huge suites, good value hotel in Munich”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

This was a great find in Munich. The hotel is new and clean, and the suites are modern and huge! The suites were one of the biggest that I have seen in Europe, and all for a very reasonable price too! The location was a bit out of the way, but the S-Bahn was close by, so the centre was only a short train ride away. Would highly recommend!

“Hotel in a nice town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

For my last business trip, I stayed in this hotel for a period of 2 months. I have compiled a list of things which I like and things to take note for this hotel. I hope this will be helpful for Trip Advisor readers who are planning to visit Munich.

Things I like about the hotel
1. Value for money - for the price, this hotel is definitely a good bang on your money.
2. Location - It is located 2 minutes away from the train station. On the way back, you will walk pass a supermarket and a provision shop. It is 20 minutes train ride away from the city.
3. Accommodation - The room looks like a mini suite. It has a common area with a couch set, big coffee table, a bar area and a work desk. A sliding door will open up to your nice cozy bedroom, a walk in wardrobe and your bathroom. The bathroom has another door which is accessible from the common area.
4. Reception - 24 hours reception and the staff are all very friendly.

Things to take note
1. If possible, request for rooms on the upper floor. The rooms on the 1st floor have full glass windows like those on the upper floors. The problem is that there are pavements located right outside of the windows so you have to keep the curtains closed all the time to prevent people from looking into the room (especially your bedroom).
2. Internet in the lobby are free for 30 minutes everyday
3. All the pillows available in the hotel are the soft kind. Get more pillows from the reception if you are used to sleeping on big fluffy pillows.
4. The fitness room has 1 cross trainer, 1 spinning bike and 1 treadmill. To use the treadmill, a safety deposit of 80 Euros must be paid to the reception to obtain the safety magnet needed to operate the treadmill. No deposit is needed to use the cross trainer and the spinning bike.

Special Mentions
1. If you're not in the mood to eat outside during your stay, give the reception a call to order some pizzas. They are affordable and pretty good for hotel food.
2. The staffs are really nice and personal. One of the staffs were even were able to recommend me some food from the hotel that I will like.
3. There's this small Asian restaurant near the train station. Head over there to take a menu from them on the first day of your stay. You can call them to place and order and have them delivered to your hotel at no extra charge.
4. Fancy some traditional Bavarian food? Then head over towards the direction of Unterhaching Rathaus for some delicious and affordable German food at a restaurant called Althaching. This place is highly recommended.

In Conclusion
Unterhaching is not Munich thus the prices are cheaper. The hotel is spacious and clean. A definite steal for accommodation of that budget range. Try not to miss the last train (around 1:55am in the city) back because the cab ride from the city back to the hotel would cost you 25 Euros. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting Munich for sightseeing, in search for a relaxing time.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms on the first floor and rooms facing the roads. It gets pretty nosiy at times but...

“Perfectly seviceable for long business stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

This place is fine if you have business nearby. It is one S-bahn stop from the Infineon Campeon. It is quiet, basically at the edge of a residential neighborhood but just one block from s-bahn station Unterhaching with a range of small restaurants and stores. I could have easily stayed a few weeks if necessary. The rooms are suite style with a wall between sleeping and lounging areas. Dowtown Munich is about 21 minutes away by train but it seemed to be faster than that. The included breakfast is decent. The free 30 min of internet per day was too slow to sync a days worth of email, and the dialup internet available was very expensive. The Euro10.70 choice for 24h was useable.

“Good location, hard-used rooms”

We stayed at the NH for 3 nights at the end of a trip and it was quite a disappointment. The first night we were checked in by a very surly woman. Our room was very spacious (a 'suite') with tired decor. While this does not normally bother me, the stained and worn carpet throughout added to the sense of neglect. The worst, however, was the ceiling in the bathroom which had several holes in it with dust and other debris falling from them.

When I told the woman at the desk about this she just looked at me and could not understand why this was a problem. Eventually we were moved to a second room which was fine (except for some mildew and rust in the shower).

We did not do breakfast in the hotel as it was very expensive and a supermarket and bakery are within 3 minutes walk. The car park was 8 euros a night and was conveniently located under the hotel. And the location was excellent - literally 2 minutes from the S-Bahn station (and about 20 minutes to the centre). It is such a pity that the rooms and staff were so incredibly disappointing!!

Overall, I was unimpressed and happy to leave - on that basis I would only recommend this hotel to those who do not mind budget accommodation in exchange for a fantastic location.

“Confortable hotel South of Munich”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

The hotel is very close to the S-Bahn which brings you to Munich center in 15 minutes. Around the hotel there's the center of the little town of Unterhaching and all little shops are easily reachable at walking distance. The rooms are very large and (some? our for sure) equipped with a cuisinette. The furniture is elegant and very good looking. The breakfast is very good and fresh (nutella is present :-). Rooms are quite and almost no noise is audible. A covered parking lot is directed link to the hotel via lifts. The service is good, even though the receptionists sometimes give the impression to look at you from the above (for no clear and real reason).
What else? Indeed I'd recommend this hotel.
