We stayed at this gasthof with the intention of relaxing for five nights after a weekend of celebrations at friends` wedding.
The gasthof is conveniently situated in a quiet cul-de- sac off the main village street of Inzell. 100 meters to the right takes you to the village center. 100 meters to the left sees you embarking on one of the delightful walks around the immediate countryside.
The inn is small and intimate and your hosts, the Maier family, are hospitable and welcoming
The decor throughout the inn is traditional Bavarian. The bedroom and bathroom [shower only, but good] were a little on the smallish side, but perfectly adequate. Both private and public places in the Izellerhof are spotlessly clean. We loved sitting on the balcony from where lovely views of the mountains can be enjoyed. There is a pleasant garden too, at the bottom of which is a typical Alpine stream. This provides a delightful place to return to after a day`s walking, having first stopped off in the village for a coffee and cake.
We booked our accomodation on a half board basis and this represented extremely good value. The breakast was extensive and very good, but the dinner was excellent. There was a wide choice on the menu and the quality of cooking and presentation, superb.
We would not hesitate to return to this inn if we ever return to this delightful part of Bavaria.
The Gasthof Inzellerhof is highly recommended.
Please be advised that we had difficulties in finding a local "hole in the wall" that dispenses cash with a visa card. We eventually found one inside the Sparkcasse.
