“ticks all the boxes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2009

We stayed at this gasthof with the intention of relaxing for five nights after a weekend of celebrations at friends` wedding.
The gasthof is conveniently situated in a quiet cul-de- sac off the main village street of Inzell. 100 meters to the right takes you to the village center. 100 meters to the left sees you embarking on one of the delightful walks around the immediate countryside.
The inn is small and intimate and your hosts, the Maier family, are hospitable and welcoming
The decor throughout the inn is traditional Bavarian. The bedroom and bathroom [shower only, but good] were a little on the smallish side, but perfectly adequate. Both private and public places in the Izellerhof are spotlessly clean. We loved sitting on the balcony from where lovely views of the mountains can be enjoyed. There is a pleasant garden too, at the bottom of which is a typical Alpine stream. This provides a delightful place to return to after a day`s walking, having first stopped off in the village for a coffee and cake.
We booked our accomodation on a half board basis and this represented extremely good value. The breakast was extensive and very good, but the dinner was excellent. There was a wide choice on the menu and the quality of cooking and presentation, superb.
We would not hesitate to return to this inn if we ever return to this delightful part of Bavaria.
The Gasthof Inzellerhof is highly recommended.
Please be advised that we had difficulties in finding a local "hole in the wall" that dispenses cash with a visa card. We eventually found one inside the Sparkcasse.

“A must for food lovers”

Stayed at this small gasthof for 4 nights this year with my wife in our double room & my 71 yo aunt in a single. The rooms are clean & presented in typically Bavarian fashion which is comfortable & homely. The 'bubble air' shower is a must try!
All rooms have mountain views, which first thing on a clear morning is breathtaking.

We stayed B&B and found the breakfast, laid out on our own table, was the best we had during a 16 night car tour which included stays in 4* city hotels. The choice was incredible.

During our stay the couple who run the Hof, H & F Maier, went out their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable & were more than willing to provide us with invaluable advice on getting around the area & places to visit. They wre extremely freindly and made us feel very welcome in their home.

The icing on the cake (no pun intended) was eating in the Hof's small but comfortable pub area for our evening dinner. The food produced in the Hof's (on view) kitchen by H Maier was gourmet standard and was some of the best food that any of us had ever had anywhere!

If you stay there try the Madras (nothing like UK style), the turkey steaks in a rich sauce or, for those with big appetites, the Balkan style mixed grill. If you want real local food - it's there too. The food was complimented with excellent wine expertly presented by F Maier.

I will stay here again on our next visit to the region & would recommend it to anyone looking for at least 4* accomodation with 5* food & hosts.
