Now part of the Akzent chain, this hotel proved to be very convenient for the Reichswald cemetery (reason for visiting Kleve) and good value. We paid €192 for two nights in a two bedded room which was in effect two single rooms with a shared bathroom; so ideal for two friends. Very clean. Friendly staff who provided lunch packs (€7 each) if requested. Good breakfast.
Kleve is not a very exciting place, although the baroque gardens are fine, but this is a good hotel for a short visit.

I was heading back to Europoort from Bavaria , and decided to visit this small town ( home of Anne of Cleves )
I was charged a very reasonable €62 for one night b/b - but got a good sized double room on the 5th floor ( non smoking )
The hotel offers a discount at 2 local restaurants.
The hotel has friendly and efficient staff , and good parking.
In summary a good , no-nonsense deal.
PS : I found the people of Kleve very friendly !

Don't ask me why I had to go to Kleve, however I spent a night there and found good accomodation at the City Hotel Heek. I was told it is one of the few hotels in Kleve without a discotheque (which, if true, would be reason enough for me to stay there), but even if not, the hotel is quietly located, offers clean rooms (with beds slightly too soft for my taste, but that's just me), an excellent breakfast buffet, and furthermore, an optional dinner at a nearby restaurant which offers good value for your money. I'd like to add that the hotel has a decent bar, a nice host, and professional reservation service catering for the needs of my group. If I ever have to go to Kleve again, I'll definitely stay again at this property.

My wife and I were taking her 82-year old father to visit the Reichswald war cemetery, and this seemed to be the nearest suitable hotel. The town of Kleve was badly damaged during the war, and the scars are still visible. Our first sight of the hotel did not impress; it seemed rather run down, and stands at a busy intersection. Having said that, the hotel itself was a pleasant experience; the staff were competent and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, with a lift for my father-in-law, the breakfast (included in the price) was more than just the usual cold continental collation and the mixed clientele seemed busy and contented. A good cheap hotel. In the unlikely event of my returning to Kleve I would stay there again.
