The room was clean, but you ghad to drive for 20 minutes to find anything decent to eat. Free parking was good. Would not stay without a car, internet access also very handy.

We arrived at the Golden Tulip Erkrath Hotel at 1 am in the morning, very tired after a concert. Our room was not available and the only consolation was a small bottle of wine. The address of our replacement hotel was not correct, misleading us to a Italian restaurant which was luckily open so I could ask directions.
At the reception desk we were asked to pay on the spot which is not nice.
We got a twin bed instead of the specially demanded double bed.
I doesn't mean that we had to be relocated we had to be dumped somewhere.

Stayed for two nights after booking with Leger Holidays for the Xmas Markets. Nice enough hotel but it has many flaws. The bar area was small and many guests retired to their room early on the Saturday evening because there was nowhere to sit. We ended up sitting on a table with a white tablecloth which seemed to be part of the dining room. One member of the bar staff was rude to several of the guests.
The breakfast was poor for a 4* hotel. Several guests had to take left over coffee from other tables because the waiting staff failed to bring any, despite being asked. The evening meal was not very nice on the first evening.
I have stayed in far better 3* hotels.

Excellent service and decor would like to go there anytime the evening buffet is lovely
