Stayed there during march, nice place and great location for walking along the sea and marina closely. Bar and restaurant quiet but really nice. Great staff.

The hotel has a lot going for it. 1. Professional and attentive staff. 2. The restaurant has a great range of food both at breakfast and dinner (with an excellent wine list). 3. The rooms are smart and well looked after. We had the Romantik suite for three of us, it was brilliant. 4. It's position in Germany but so close to Denmark was a real plus for us on our mini weekend break. 5. It sits right on a small beach and if the weather is nice as it was in October then sunbathing is a breeze!
Price wise it is a bit chunky but it is money well spent.
For the hefty price tag you arrive with great expectations. The first disappointment occurs upon arrival, when you have to deal with your luggage on your own, and a frosty german welcome. Overall, the hotel has a great location, and the product is well looked after and maintained. Unfortunately there is little service culture one can feel through the hotel. Though a number of employees stand out with their individual performance, such as Daniel and his female colleague in banquets, also Susanne in the restaurant, and a lovely young, blond lady at reception. But the rest of the team generally appear to be too busy to deal with guests, or to be friendly, or even make a guests' stay more pleasurable. No management presence has been observed during the 4 days we stayed, nor has management introduced themselves. Considering that we were part of small wedding group, who decided to spent this very special day in the hotel, this is very poor. Food was very good, a very pleasing Scandinavian atmosphere, but very overpriced for the actual service performance received!
After doing some research and comparing prices, we decided to book an apartment which this hotel also offers. Looking at the webpage, the apartments are nicely equipped in modern Scandinavian style. On the phone we were promised to get an apartment on the upper level like the one advertised.
On arrival an untrained receptionist gave us the key, but was not able to exactly tell us where the apartment was located.
The identification in the adjacent house is confusing and it took us three trips to the reception and a search through the house until we found the right door. (Key showed room 808, which actually was room 8). Although we had booked for three people, only two sets of towels and pillows were provided. So another trip to the main house, asking for towels and pillow was required. The apartment was not on the upper level and the interior was nothing comparable to the apartment shown on the webpage.
beautiful and quiet hotel, room was absolutely clean and furnished in scandinavian style, excellent bad and pillows, quick internet, very rich breakfast, it was definitelly worth staying there for 99,- EUR/night. Next time when I go to Flensburg I will definitelly book this hotel
