We had an excellent three night stay at this hotel in late February. The charming and efficient hotel receptionist, Felix, was extremely helpful and obliging and contributed to our enjoying our stay.

Our initial room was small and cramped but we were upgraded to a spacious apartment which was delightful. The hotel is located in Erkrath, a quiet and attractive suburb of Dusseldorf which is a 20 minute train ride into the centre of Dusseldorf but we were visiting friends in the area so this arrangement suited us well. We found some good local restaurants nearby too with the help of Felix.

Close to eastern autobahn and on bus route to centre. Staff let us down by not telling us the restaurant was not going to open for dinner which meant a change of plan the first evening, However they opened the bar on our return. Could park outside or in covered car park. 239Euros for 2 nights, good value.

I was here in 2006 and this weekend again with my wife and 12 y old daughter. The family room (or should we call it suite) we had was really enormous. It had a large living room (with bed for my daughter) with kitchen and microwave and a very nice bar in the refrigerator.
Also the bar in the hotel entrance is very cosy, and we had a very nice staff there as well. Very relaxing after a long drive.
The hotel has a lot of spa facilities, which we didn't use (until now :-)), but which look very promising. Also the saune is something to discover.
We sure are going back to this hotel, as early as December already.
You are a little bit outside of Düsseldorf, but it is a great location next to the A3 and ideally to have a great walk or bikeride.

My husband and I stayed at the beautiful Mercure Erkrath hotel in June 2004 . We were on a travel business to Dusseldorf , but we preferred to stay in Erkrath because it is a nice village with tasty food and friendly people . The hotel although it has all the modern facilities is romantic , with its beautiful garden .The rooms are spacious ( we hoped that the price included breakfast , but it didn't , as , unfortunately , all the Accor hotels ).
Erkrath is close to Neandertal , where you can visit the museum of the homo sapiens . Near the hotel starts a path crossing the woods , where horses live.A very pleasant stay.
