We just spent several nights at this hotel. It is centrally located in a town that is an undiscovered gem in Germany, off the usual tourist track but full of things to do and see. Caters to both a business and leisure customer base.
We paid a fair (the "Best rate") rate--92 euros per night for an agreeable, spacious double, plus a few more euros per day for underground secure parking. The online booking service for Best Western repeatedly "timed out" so we called the hotel to book with them directly. The hotel decor is sensible modern. Very comfortable bed. Pluses: general comfort of room, helpful and congenial staff, indoor pool (modestly sized but never crowded), sauna and excercise room, central location (5 minute walk to pedestrian zone but also easy access to the main routes for exploring this lovely region).
Minuses: Our room (324) was above a ground floor Chinese/Thai restaurant (not part of the hotel). The first night we were there, the room smelled strongly of Asian food. We had to keep the windows wide open to air the room out (could be a problem in winter). The restaurant was nearly empty the other nights we were there, so the problem didn't re-occur. However, to avoid those odors you might want to stay in rooms numbered 14 or under (300-314, for example).
Another minus is the wifi connection. On our floor, the wifi hot spot was near room 311 and the signal was simply too weak for our room. If you plan to use your laptop frequently while you are there, request a room as close to the wifi point as possible. The hotel staff agreed they need to put in more wifi points to improve reception. FYI, there is a free Internet terminal at the nearby excellent Gothland cafe on Bruchstrasse in the pedestrian zone by the canal.
The final minus was the lack of toiletries. The only thing provided is a soap dispenser containing a soap that you were supposed to use for your body, face and hair. We ended up buying shampoo at the local DM. Be advised and bring your own toiletries or stock up at the DM.
We did not breakfast at the hotel--there are many bakeries and cafes nearby that serve breakfast and we decided to take advantage of those.
Overall, we give the hotel thumbs up and will stay there again, as we definitely want to spend more time exploring this delightful but relatively untouristed region of Germany.
