Yuck. The main lobby was new and updated, but the rooms are old and smelly. As soon as I opened the door to our room, a "nursing home" smell hit me. It seems like different parts of the hotel were renovated at random times.
We had the window open to try and air out the room, but then we sawthe note that racoons are really bad in the area, and they will come in the room if the window is left open. Great. So our room was smelly.
The shower was also awful. It was in the back corner of the tub and the shower head was terrible- either shooting spikes of water or just a spray. I had to huddle in the back corner of the tub to shower. It was horribly uncomfortable. And the only big towel rack was IN the tub. Well thought out.
The hotel played elevator music in the hallways the entire time, and it was terribly irritating. There was a speaker right outside our room and it was hard to fall alseep. Every time I was just about asleep, some new horrible song would come on, and I would wake up again. I called twice to complain (the first time they did nothing), and the man on the phone was cranky and rude and obviously did not care. They never turned the music down btw. I hardly slept. The beds were not very comfortable either.
The only redeeming feature was the big breakfast buffet. Thank god the coffee was good, because after 2 nights of not sleeping, I needed it.
I was really happy to leave. Definitely not a hotel for young people.

This hotel is a real treat. Located next to the "Kurpark" it is surrounded by trees and is the perfect place to relax. Rooms have a size between average to very large, depending, in which part of the hotel your room is located. Be aware, that those room in the new part are airconditioned - which might be a plus during summer, otherwise I do prefer the old part due to the high ceilings and large balconies (our room 258 had 3 large windows facing the castle and a balcony in front of them). The pool is large with lots of space, also attached a sauna and steamroom.

Overall, a perfect place for a weekend or longer. Restaurant offers a good half board menu as well as a la carte (both can be recommended). Prices are compared with other Spa destinations low - another reason to stay there or to come back. There is also a Beauty farm (my partner loved it).

Go there, you won't be disappointed.
