The owner speaks good English and is very hospitable as is his two dogs and the other staff members. The rooms are clean with Pine furniture; they are not large, quite basic, but perfectly adequate. The beds are firm, pillows thin, but clean and once again adequate. The rooms have a small TV. The bathrooms generally have a shower, with glass doors, which works quite well although the pressure will not knock you over. There is heating but no air-con.
Continental breakfast is included in the bargain price and is very good. The restaurant also serves very good food of an evening (steak, Fish, Goulash) at a very reasonable price. There is also a bar. The Zeppelin Museum, School Museum shops and lake front are only 10-15 minutes walk away. (Why not splash out and take a Zeppelin flight while you are there, these are pre-bookable on-line).
The Hotel is Not outstanding as such, but as a budget choice it is excellent value for money. I’ve given it four starts not because it is a ‘four star’ hotel, but it is very good for those that essentially want a B&B. It is probably better than most UK hotels at that price if you can find any.
Combine this Hotel with a Ryanair flight from Stanstead for a cheap weekend away!
