“Godd for everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Neat, Hospitable and Lavish.

Good rooms (even smoking rooms). Good options for getting around town. No wifi in rooms but I managed to get a room directly above the Lobby Wifi ;)
Good steaks and food options.

Room Tip: Go for the one above the lobby so you can get the wifi connected.

“Family run hotel - warm hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

Stayed here for 4 days during my recent trip to Friedrichshafen - lovely hotel about 15 mins from the Bahnhof and Stadt / hafen. Check in was very smooth and the front office staff speak good and fluent English.

Was alloted a huge room on the top floor - the last few stairs you have to drag your luggage up and is not recommended for the elderly / challenged.

Very neat room - big bath, nice balcony facing the Alps and good ventilation.

The breakfast and other meals had a very personal touch - very nice spread and well displayed. Free internet is available in the reception - while I could connect my laptop - couldnt get my iphone to work on it.

Overall very satisfied - the reception staff was the friendliest and would always call for a cab, attend to my requests and even gave me a small Grappa bottle while leaving.

Would definately recommend it to anyone wanting a true feel of Baden Wuttemberg

“THE place to stay with children in Friedrichshafen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2006

We had orginally booked into the Zeppelin Hotel via the Zeppelin-NT website, but they cancelled our reservation without our knowledge and we ended up at the Krone. It is a hundred times better than the Zeppelin Hotel.

It is a delightful hotel with big rooms, comfortable, electrically-adjustable beds, balconies in all the rooms and excellent facilities. The buildings are modern, well-designed and sumptuously furnished. They have indoor and outdoor pools, spa and fitness center, several bars, a small bowling alley, minigolf and covered parking. There was a complimentary champagne happy hour the night we arrived. Our two girls had a blast there, and so did we. Meals were excellent. The pools and fitness facility were great, especially the indoor pool with poolside bar. The staff was very friedly and helpful.

It is out of town, but close to the Friedrichshafen airport and easy access by car to the whole Bodensee area.

Highly recommended.

“Lovely hotel conveniently situated”

We chose this hotel for the beginning and end of our touring holiday of Bavaria and Austria last summer with our two teenagers. We wanted to be near Friedrichshafen airport but not in a town and this hotel was ideal. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools clean and a good size. A large hotel but we didn't find it impersonal and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very good restaurant and excellent breakfasts. Easy access to Friedrichshafen and the main routes around Lake Constance and to the motorway to Bregenz and on to Austria.

“Luke-warm champagne deal”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2004

The hotel offers a "Champagne-Dreams"-deal including a 'comfort room', breakfast buffet, five course dinner and a free ticket for the Zeppelin-Museum - priced at EUR 117.50 per night (single).

The breakfast buffet is excellent and beautifully presented; the dinner is, however, a very slow and pretty average affair - at one stage drinks took over thirty minutes to arrive.

The 'comfort room' I was given was fairly small and very drab - dark, depressing furniture chipped in places, not all appliances in working order, the mattress worn out, the chair on the balcony on the brink of collapse. Despite the summer heat there was no airconditioning, not even a fan. Complaints about the lack of comfort in a 4-star-'comfort room' were only snappily responded to.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the hotel, despite its generally very beautiful appearance and the clean and nicely designed facilities. The place is a service desert hiding behind a nice facade.
