“Won't be coming back here.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

This hotel had the most uncomfortable beds, and smallest shower room if ever expireced.

Add to that, no room air-conditioning, so, had to try and sleep with the window open. The hotel is on the take off path of the airport, so every morning the first take off at 6:30 woke us up, but it didn't matter all that much, because the construction site next door started at 7.

I complained to the management, asked for another room, but none were avilable.

The breakfast was a joke, they ran out of food before 9 o'clock two of the three mornings we were there.

This isn't what we expect from a 4 star hotel.., more like a 2 star coach tour place.

Nice location though if you can put up with other nonsense.

“Perfect location, excellent room”

We got a lovely corner room overlooking the Bodensee. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Our corner windows had geraniums in window boxes, and opened to provide a nice breeze. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The lobby and bar have lots of mounted animal heads on the walls. Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was varied and plentiful. We had dinner at the restaurant, which also has the mounted heads, and it was excellent. The service was leisurely paced, but impeccable, and the food delicious.

“Will NEVER stay here AGAIN”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

One of the worst hotels I have ever lived in from a service standpoint - terrible !! I would strongly advice fellow travellers to stay elsewhere or move to Lindau or nearby towns if all other hotels are booked.

When I checked in, I was given a very small room with the excuse that I was a single traveller - the room was so small that I had no place for my luggage - imagine paying a 100 Euros for this. After some fuss, they agreed to move me to another room but the next day - since I had already booked for 5 days - no choice. At first I thought my room was an exception - but on closer inspection while walking through the hallways - I found several such rooms - so single travellers please be wary.

The next day I was given a large room - really large but when I went to collect the keys are the receptions (yes they still have the bulky keys with bulkier keychains) I was told that I would have to pay more since I was a single and occupying a double room - no choice to pay but wouldnt want to stay in the small room with my luggage on the bed.

Breakfast was ordinary - the cream cheese had no cream. As also reviewed by others, despite having a do not disturb sign - I twice encountered housekeeping entering my room !!

Overall - lovely location but stay here if you expect zero level of service on paying 100+ Euros.

“Excellent customer service, however definitely not a four star.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011

I was very impressed with the staff, extremely professional, polite and helpful. My emails before arrival were replied to within a few minutes and also my requests at reception (e.g. iron and iron board) have been accomodated immediately. The waiters at the hotel restaurant are incredibly aware and so friendly. Food is also very nice, good selection at breakfast, traditional German specialities at dinner. The only remark is that the room standard is nowhere near to a four star. The hotel is very clean, but the room furniture is that of a three star maximum. The towels are very thin, no amenities at all such as body lotion...just a poor quality multi-use liquid soap instead of a proper shower gel and shampoo shampoo. These things are expected when you pay €220 a night! Nevermind though, I had a very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: Away from main road otherwise it gets loud!!

“Very competent staff”

Hotel has spots in front to park and unload. Used one of the hotels individual private garages down the street. Great spacious room, clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast with the best bacon, and champagne. Nice location near Bahnhof and across the street from lakeside attractions. Excellent stay in Friedrichshafen.
