breakfast is delicious and rooms tastefully decorated. service with a personal touch at its best: when we tried to extend, they were fully booked but helped us finding alternative accomodation. a real wow!

We stayed one night at this hotel, and had a wonderful time. We got the blue rom, which was really nice. Every room had its own color, which I think was a nice touch. This is a small hotel, and everything had a personal touch. The room (appartment actually. Two floors with kitchen) had a real cozy feel to it. It felt more like someones home than a hotel room. Not a luxury feeling to it, but very relaxed and a bit alternative. The room was very clean.

The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed it in the lounge like back yard, which we enjoyed a lot.

We parked our car at the Karstadt parkhouse, and paid 10EUR for one day.

We recommend both this hotel, and Bamberg which is a really charming, small town!

Bamberg is a welcoming tourist destination in Germany, and the Wohnbar is a great option if you want affordable, roomy accomodations that are within walking distance of all the main sights (including most of the breweries). The room we stayed in was more like an apartment, and the base of the hotel is a nice cafe/lounge area (in case you need to relax from seeing all the sights). The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and they offer a good selection at breakfast. If you have a rental car, head to the city parking garage near the university (I believe it is called "Nord" since it is north of the city center).

We went to Bamberg without a hotel reservation, stopped at the tourist information office, and found this from a list of hotels. Glad we did, because it is a real gem. The owner, Dmitri, greets you personally and shows you to your room, which is really more of a huge apartment. There are only six units so book ahead if possible - we lucked out midweek in October. Each is themed with a different color scheme - we stayed in the blue room. It was TWO STORIES, with a spiral staircase in the living room which lead up to a huge bedroom with king bed, a full kitchen with all the basics, and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Our room for two people was 79 Euro including breakfast which consisted of breads, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, and eggs upon request. I wish we had stayed longer than one night. Dmitri was great, giving us advice about sightseeing in Bamberg - a city he obviously adores and knows well. The location was great, a short walk from the Town Hall bridge, along the river for one block, then a half block over and you've arrived. Everything in Bamberg was charming, walkable, and pretty inexpensive compared to Munich. I highly recommend this hotel and Bamberg.
