Great Place to stay close to old town area, lots of charm. i did not give 5 for it has no parking.

My friend introduced me by Segway to visit Bamberg. We took 30 mins to learn the skill and luckily we had a nice teacher Taiki who teach us very patient and with all details technique. We had a nice weather and took an hour visit the Bamberg City. If you are the first time to visit Bamberg, I would suggest you can stay in this hotel as they have hotel rooms with Segway tour service. Very nice people and friendly service from the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas in December 2009 while visiting our niece who is attending the university in Bamberg. The hotel is a two-three minute walk from the town square and is within walking distance of all the breweries and sites. Since we were there at Christmas we found the location to be very convenient to the Christmas Market which is centered on the town square.
Our room was on the top floor of the hotel and was comfortable, clean, very spacious and included a kitchen. Dimitri, the hotel manager, and his staff treated us like family during our entire stay. From accommodating our late arrival and check-in, to recommending sites to see, to staying on call with the airlines to receive the delivery of lost luggage on Christmas day, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the first floor and was very good. In addition to the typical German breakfast fare of cereal, meats, cheese, eggs, etc., they served fresh bread from a local bakery that was delicious.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Wohnbar and would definitely stay there again.

breakfast is delicious and rooms tastefully decorated. service with a personal touch at its best: when we tried to extend, they were fully booked but helped us finding alternative accomodation. a real wow!
