I was booked into the Tweer Hotel Goldener Adler as our usual choice of hotels were not available (Elton John was playing in Konstanz that night).
The hotel decor is a little dated, however overall this is a very nice hotel. The reception staff are friendly and the service good.
My room, number 314 was on the third floor (with no lift). However most of the rooms in the hotel are served by a lift. The room was large and bright up in the roof of the building. The pink carpet and bathroom suite was not to my taste, however it was very comfortable. It felt more like staying in someones house than in a hotel. The balcony was over looking atractive residential properties and a garden.
The bed was very comfortable, this room was equipped with two single beds and a small flat screen TV.
The hotel rooms are not equipped with wireless internet (WiFi), however there is free WiFi access in the bar and lobby area which was excellent. An access code can be obtained free of charge from reception. Both the lobby and bar were equipped with many tables and chairs, each with power sockets.
The breakfast was of a good standard and with a good variety of choices on offer. They do not seem to replenish food as it depletes so I would suggest going earlier rather than later. Maybe that was not so normal as I cannot imagine it is the norm.
Konstanz town centre is accessible via taxi (or bus I believe). A taxi costing around €12-15.
I would recommend the Tweer Hotel Goldener Adler to others visiting Konstanz. It is not the most stylish hotel, but it is a comfortable choice.
