Only 3 things stand out for me in this hotel : great "olde worlde" ambience at the bar & restaurant & lobby (you can sit there for hours and feel transported back in time to the opulent 30s or before), location (can't be closer to the train & bus and Altstadt and yet be somewhat shielded from the noise), and friendly service staff. Ok, the bed was oh so good as well ; new mattress ! Our room was tiny and located on the 5th floor toward the back of hotel (it seems the hotel is rather full at this time of year), very dated in looks but at least it was clean and functional ... Liked the heated stone floors in the bathroom (again tiny). McDonalds is right next door if one has hunger pangs late at night.

When we arrived we were upgraded to a larger room than we expected so we were off to a good start. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we could see the lake from one of our windows.

The hotel staff were very polite. We were offered juice/ sparkling wine/ water on arrival which was a nice touch.

We parked in the car park in a building next door to the hotel. It is meant for shoppers or people visiting the town. We had no difficulties finding a parking place or using the car park. The hotel validated our parking for us.

The hotel is opposite the train station so it is on a busy street. Other than that the location is excellent. The hotel is within very easy walking distance of the main square and the lake.

We travelled from Switzerland to Konstanz Germany on the train for a comfortable relaxing break from life's routine.
We booked 2 family rooms which were spacoius comfotable and well equiped. The hotel is conveniently located directly opposite the train station and the shops. Plus handy for the buses for day trips to the spectacular gardens at Mainau.
Breakfast in the hotel is excellent and the hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. Rooms at the back may be a little noisy when the nightclubs empty.
We have stayed here before and would do so again

I stayed in this hotel for one night on a recent trip and was very pleased. It is located at the edge of a pedestrian area with shopping and restaurants. I used a nearby parking garage, so had to carry luggage about a block to the hotel. The room was clean, nicely decorated and with appropriate amenities. The staff was exceptionally courteous, helpful and professional. I paid the extra fee for internet connection and for breakfast, and was satisfied with both.

There were only 2 things I would criticize. One was the shower ... there was a lovely bath with jets (that I didn't use) that was clearly designed for seated bathing only. There was a shower wand, but no way to secure it at proper shower height. The other was the noise from the street. To be fair, I was there on a Friday night and my room overlooked the street. Closing the windows helped significantly, but it was still a bit noisier than I would have liked. And it was no inconvenience to close the windows as the room offered air conditioning.
