Thank you Jane and Hugh for 3 wonderful days and nights at Quinta dos tres Rios.
We had booked the Vineyard Suite. A beautiful, delicate and clean suite with a large living room, large bedroom and a delicate bathroom. This room has two balconies. One shared, overlooking the terrace, and one private where we sat every night with our glass of wine after great dinners and stargazing at the big terrace. Satelites and shooting stars!

The Quinta is just outside a small village and by car you reach lots of nice places. Beaches in the river, wine castles, beatiful towns etc. But we had all our evenings at the Quinta with Jane and Hugh, family and friends. Wonderful dinners (there is no need to go for other resaurants) with 3 courses, lots of their own wine and Port. Drinks before dinner. The best thing is when you relax in a sun bed you got a cold beer in your hand without having asked for it!! Thats what i call service from out of this world :)

I think they have a project going on to make a pool and that will make this place even better. Beacause in July, in almost 40 degrees Celcius it would have be nice to have a swim in a pool.
And if there is one thing who can make the place just even more perfect is a bit bigger bed (it was too short for my very tall husband). But that is just a small detail.
Oh I almost forgot the beakfast. What to say? Just perfect - delicious!

We absolutely loved everything about this fantastic place! First of all, the house is beautiful, with big, clean and very cosy rooms. Breakfast is really nice, with a variety of fresh fruits from the garden, home-made jams, home-made muesli, and so much more... It is also highly recommended to have dinner in this b&b, as Hugh and Jane make a delicious 3-course meal, including the véry tasty wine they make themselves from the vineyards around the house. The B&B is perfectly located to make day-trips to Coimbra and to the Douro-region. We had such a lovely time, and enjoyed the warm and hospitable company of the hosts Hugh and Jane. We miss Quinta dos Tres Rios already, and we can't wait to go back!

Eight of us returned to your haven of peace and tranquility for our joint special birthday treat. If anything, we enjoyed ourselves even more than the first time. Instant relaxation, beautiful setting and accommodation, fabulous food and wine, excellent advice on places to visit or places to eat - we even had a nightingale singing as we sat outside in the evenings. We would thoroughly recommend your hotel to anyone.

We've fallen in love with Portugal, Quinta dos Tres Rios, Hugh and Jane. Everything you will read in other reviews is genuine. From the welcoming light lunch and sampling of very good "house wine" to enjoyng the fresh bounty of the garden, entertaining conversation, interesting fellow guests and wine touring with Hugh, it's the best! We spent 5 nights and could have stayed weeks. Plenty to see and do, or not as you choose. Excellent breakfasts and dinners. Very large comfortable suite.
Our wine touring days w Hugh were great and I was introduced to my new favorite summer cocktail, Tonic and Port. Our visit was sublime because our hosts made it so!
