“Gem of a Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel last weekend (3/02/12) and was very pleasantly suprised, the Hotel Staff were great, the room was lovely (although I know I am nit picking but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable). Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices i.e kippers, smoked salmon, eggs benedict, full Northumberland, and plenty of it. We had evening dinner in the Stables Bar and the only complaint was the dessert which was a chocoholics delight (it wasn't) it was terrible and for £6.50 i would have preferred a bar of chocolate. Would definately stay here again, very good value for money, I have paid double these prices for Hotels alot worse, it makes a refreshing change.

We got married here last year. Weve wanted to go back since and decided to celebrate my wifes 30th b'day at Beamish on the 24 th january. When I rang to book I requested room 102 as this was our honeymoon suite last year. We arrived mid-afternoon after a quick drink in the stables bar to a brilliant welcome from the lady on reception who actually remembered that we were married there and even our names. Room 102 was ready and waiting which I thought was very good. We ate at the stables restaurant that night, the food ( chicken starter, venison & fillet steak) was lovely. Also the service from the male waiter was brilliant and we heard a few comments from other tables which were very favourable about him. Breakfast the next morning was spot on and presented great. All in all a lovely stay and would recommend once again.

“Beamish Hall winter festival”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Absolute crap, a beer festival that runs out of beer after 2 hours, staff that could'nt care less and in my opinion an event that was too crowded (too many tickets sold), no sign of our entrance money back, greedy people. We'll not be back!!!.

Room Tip: Don't attend their winter/beer festivals.

“Very Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Stayed for 1 night for the Winter Beer & Live Music Festival. What a great idea the festival is! It encouraged us and many others to make the effort to do something special in January. Although most of the music was not to our tastes (too much 'blues'), the Paul Liddell band were very good. Good choice of beers and the Stables Bar & Restaurant was excellent, service to match. In fact all the staff including hotel staff were very welcoming and breakfast was good. The room was more than adequate but very warm even when we turned off the heating and had the window wide open all night, there must have been more heat coming from somewhere! A lovely location and we hope to return for the next festival with hopefully less blues and more folk or rock music!

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

The stay didn't start to well, not the hotels fault, but they did make the week better. The staff here are diamonds in the set up. The looked after us above and beyond, better than any other hotel I have stayed in. The hotel yea could do will some touch up's in places, but the setting is amazing. This also goes for the Stables restaurant, good food, excellent staff. I would stay again without hesitation, hopeful without the dramas at the start! One final point, could do with wireless in every room.
