Superbly located in the Caithness countryside with wonderful views of Dunnet Head - welcoming & comfortable & a great base from which to explore the county whether surfing at Thurso, crossing to Orkney or simply enjoying the wilds. Definitely one I would recommend & would be my first choice if returning to the area.

We travelled round the North of Scotland and overall this was probably our best stay in the whole fortnight. We got a great room, a friendly welcome, a lovely breakfast and excellent value for money. We had the king size bedroom at the front of the house and the room was clean, modern and spacious with a neat en-suite shower room. The bed was slightly softer than we would have liked but that is just a personal preference.
Overall we had a great stay and will go back to Valleyview when next in Caithness

my friend and I stayed at ValleyView for 2 nights on a recent 3 week trip to Scotland. The B&B is well located between Thurso and another small village. It was about 30 minutes drive to the John O'Groats ferry, which is ideal for a trip to Orkney. Breakfast was very good and Antionette was very welcoming and helpful. The room was one of the most comfortable of the trip.

With a combined background of interior design and catering what could go wrong - well, nothing actually! One of the best B&Bs we've stayed in - they even offered to make room in their garage for our Morgan.
Refreshlingly large, purpose built annexe was perfect with a large ensuite with opening window. Relatively unusual as many B&B bathrooms have been shoe-horned into odd corners - not always successfully.
Wonderful food - we had a taste of Scotland four course evening meal which proved excellant value - Steven is a catering lecturer at a local college.
If only all B&Bs in the UK were up to this standard.
