Top score on all fronts. Beautiful, extraordinarily picturesque - inside decoration and views all round, fun for all ages - lots of activity from walks, quads, horses, great food and top hosts. Homely whilst being away from the home and chores. Thoroughly relaxing. Great way to re-charge the batteries and de-stress.

I am a photographer from the United States. My wife and I took a photography trip to Madrid. While in Spain, we decided to go out to the country and stay at Finca La Ramallosa. We made the journey from Madrid out to the countryside. Ohh Wow!! The landscape is vast and beautiful. The sunset's were stunning and the night time was breathtaking. It is so dark at night, the stars are so bright!!! The Milky Way is easily visible. We loved the rustic cabins. It was like going back in time, BUT, it had all of the modern comforts of home. We had a wonderful time riding the quads and just enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Let's move on to the food. We are from Louisiana, so, I know what good food is. Well, Rebecca and Alfonso also know what good food is!! The food was delicious, gourmet, and fresh. Delicious!! I've never eaten so healthy before. One of my favorite parts of my stay was, just walking through the olive groves and listening to the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. It was Very Peaceful and relaxing. Thank you for the amazing service Rebecca and Alfonso. If we ever get to come back to Spain, we will be back. Thanks!!!!....Chris

Just a warning to potential clients. Despite having a confirmed booking for two nights when we arrived after a 4 hour drive and 20 very bumpy and dirty minutes down a dirt track (not mentioned on the website) we were told the Finca was closed!!! The 'supposed-owner' was full of apologies and did find us a hotel in a nearby village but be warned - this Finca may not really exist at all.

La Ramallosa is a unique hideaway nestling on the border of Spain and Portugal in Extramadura, north of Caceres. If you are looking for something different this is for you and gives a feeling of real Spain!
All of the buildings are sympathetically restored using local stone and the original designs to produce stunning buildings of the highest standard. A swimming pool overlooks the fantastic olive groves and the home cooked local food is excellent, served in a converted barn also decorated to the highest standards.

Also available is horse-riding, quad biking, local products for sale including Ramallosa olive oil. Typical local villages and towns are nearby and just a short drive away.

Rebecca and Alfonso have made their job a way of life and are truly committed and enthusiastic about everything Extramduran, they are helpful, provide excellent food, facilities and advice.
