“First time Staying in an Auberge & Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

I loved the Auberge Le Canard Huppé for the relaxing atmoshere and gastronomic food. My husband & I booked the "Joys of the Bacchus Island" package (we paid extra for the second nights dinner). We had never stayed in an Auberge or a Bed & Breakfast before and we're so glad that we picked this one. Our visit to Ile d'Orleans was also a first & we went to look into my ancestry. The weekend was cold and rainy, but the food & local Bacchus wine made up for it. Philip Rae, chef and Innkeeper is hospitable, along with being a very talented and creative chef. We tell everyone how much we enjoyed our stay & can't wait to go back again & again.

“Exceeded my expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Stayed for only one day, but meals and room were beyond my expectation. Philippe is an excellent host and chef. Will definitely go back, wish we had booked more days

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

My boyfriend and I recently visited the Inn after spending two nights in Quebec City and wow! Philip was so welcoming at check-in and made us feel right at home. While we didn't take part, there is a patio beside the house that would be excellent for enjoying the sunshine in the evenings or mornings. The dinner that was included with our reservation was amazing!!! We'd had wonderful food all weekend long but nothing compared to this. The waitress was also excellent and worked with our lack of French very well.

The breakfast included the next morning was also just as delicious as dinner.

While there is limited stuff to do on the Island I would definitely include it in your trip just to have an excuse to stay here for a night! Wonderful and I hope we get to visit again!

“1 year anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Once again amazed at the detail that goes into everything they do. My husband and I got married here last year and we went back for our one year anniversary. From the food to the room to the ambience again just wonderful. I highly recommend this auberge to everyone!!!!!! You can not find better anywhere else. I would literally drive there from Montreal just for supper (or breakfast) and then return home, that is how good the food is there. The chef smokes his own duck and salmon and it is to die for! If you eat the Salmon Eggs Benedictine you will no longer be able to eat them anywhere else because everything else will seem like garbage comapred to what he does. That goes for the rest of his food as well.

Truly a wonderful experience once again and I can not thank them enough for this.

“Already planning our 4th visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

My husband and I just returned from our 3rd stay at the inn. Between the charming, careful decor of the rooms and the warm, attentive service, we consistently have the experience of being welcome guests in a comfortable country home.

Each meal in the restaurant is memorable, from breakfasts (home made waffles and duck confit omelettes) that far exceed traditional B&B fare to wonderfully prepared dinners-my husband is still waxing poetic about his recent filet mignon. Each year, we’re excited to see the changes/additions to the menu, which truly epitomizes what we now understand to be a marriage of local ingredients and the traditional cuisine of Quebec, elevated to the next level by the creativity of the chef.

Our understanding is especially thanks to several tours ( and wine tastings) of the island on which the inn is situated, known for its history, rich cultural heritage, and agri-tourism.

The inn is a very easy 15min. drive to Quebec City and having previously stayed in QC, I can honestly say that there is no comparison for us in terms of cuisine or value, from the overall price to what one receives within it. We always choose the dinner-room packages of the inn, well aware that the creations of Chef Rae’s kitchen are worth the price of the package alone elsewhere in QC or the US.
