We have just returned from a week at this hotel, the stay was wonderful and the stuff was lovely and very friendly.
1. The Ski:
As someone said before ski-out is 20 meters from the entrance of the hotel, ski-in may take 5-7 minutes of walking depended which slope you take when going back.
2. The Ski room:
Ski room is not as we used to in other places, it is on floor -1 but the shoes heaters are on floor 0 next to the entrance - not ideal.
3. The Rooms:
The hotel consists variety of rooms (I saw at least 6 rooms) some of them really small for a couple like (304 & 107) but to be fair the stuff given us (2 person) a room for 4 person (room 101) although there is no good view from it, this room is huge and include a Philips stereo system. another good room is 102.
4. The Food:
The Dinner courses were delicious and were served in very interesting way, the stuff is open for changes although it is fixed meal even if the request is not logical (like: pasta with potatos ;-))
be prepared that if you plan to sit in a 6 person table the dinner will take between 2 - 2.5 hours, so take your time ;-) this was very annoying at the beginning of the stay but we got used to it ....
5. Night Ski:
The hotel have a deal with a chalet that located on the mountain that you can eat the same dinner as in the hotel and go down at night using torches. this deal cost 19 EUR and it is enjoyable experience.
TIP: Ask that Julie will be your waitress on the mountain (we are all fell in love with her, as she is the best waitress we have ever meet) - Wee, Wee, Wee Julie ;-)
I want to special thank Alis from the reception desk, Nelly from the dinning room both made our stay very pleasurable.
If I will come back to Val Thorens I definitely return stay in this hotel.
