This hotel is in a great location, has lovely cosy rooms, super hot powerfull showers and amazing staff- the cleaners were friendly, the sweedish staff were also amazingly friendly and helpful. Could not fault the staff, location or quality of rooms.

The breakfast was also fantastic with lots of choice- everying was well cooked- poridge and eggs delicious 3 different types of bread, salads, cereals, differnt meats,chees, hot chocolate, teas- the only bad thing was the coffee whch was too strong for me.

The evening meals were not to our taste- but we are fussy- the portions we found to be extremely small, but the sauces were very very rich. The meat was really tast and the fish was to die for, but it is more like masterchef fine dining as opposed to a brittish chain reatraunts that we are used to. By the end of the week i really just wanted a baked potato, and some vegetables! I think most people liked the food and the breakfast really was fab- much better than any uk hotel breakfast i have ever had.

The other shock we had was the cost of everything in the alps- especially cans of juice and hot drinks as well as the clothes, athough i think this is true of all resorts not just tignes.

I think this is a good choice of hotel for tignes and soe of the moans people have put on here are totaly picky and unjustified- its a really good hotel - the bar has great vies of the slopes even at night time and the bar drinks are reasonably priced- nice log fire too, pool tables and comfy sofas. Crystal were also pretty efficient and helpful and had some good free events on.

On arrival at the hotel, I have to be honest, it all looked a little depressing! Rather tired, faded and in need of refurbishment. The bedrooms were no better I’m afraid. Very basic, but adequate for our needs.

However dinner that evening, and every evening after more than made up for any shortcoming in the hotel facilities. The food was exceptional! The three course set menu never failed to disappoint – every dish was impeccably cooked and beautifully presented. Without doubt, it was the finest, and consistent food that I have ever been served on a skiing holiday.

I must also mention our waitress for the week, Annie. She was absolutely charming and looked after us so well all week long. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she really made the experience special for all of us.

Breakfast was no less disappointing with an excellent buffet each morning of wonderful cheeses, ham, fruit, yogurts, porridge, boiled eggs and fabulous crusty French bread. Plus a plentiful supply of hot and cold beverages.

I would very happily indeed recommend this hotel.

Stayed here twice now, while the rooms are basic, the staff and the food and free drink with the evening meal makes up for it,
Value for money and location this one takes some beating, a freind of ours staying in a chalet was blown away by the food we were served which says it all, top marks and cant wait for stay number 3

A friend and I stayed at this hotel last week having booked the accommodation and a week's snowboarding lessons with Crystal. We arranged our own transfer from Bourg St Maurice railway station and arrived in Tignes about 8.30am. We were too early to check in but able to leave our bags in the boot room and opted for the rather overpriced breakfast (10 euros!)- much better offers around. Brilliant location, right next to the slope

Rooms
We had a south facing twin room with beautiful views on to the mountains. The rooms were very simple- just two single beds with quilts and a tiny tiny pillow and dressing table/shelving unit. There were no tea or coffee making facilities or little extras. The bathroom was fairly clean with a small bath and shower. The rooms were clean but in desperate need of renovation. The bath had cracks in it, the toilet could have done with a very thorough clean. For us, looking for a basic last minute first time alpine holiday it was ok but definitly not for anyone looking for a little extra comfort. There wasn't any other furniture in the room (i.e. chair) so we always had to sit on our beds like teenagers!

Food
The breakfast was a continental buffet and was quite good, if a little lacking in variety. The evening meals were lovely, really well cooked. Set menu with limited alternatives but if, like me, you'll eat and try anything then the evening meals were delicious.

Bar
This area could be so much better. There isn't much seating and the leather sofas were in a real sorry state (cover's cracked to reveal stuffing, one was so broken nobody could sit on it!) There were a couple of pool tables at one end and a fire at the other. The staff were really friendly and there were 2-4-1 après ski offers 1600-1800.

Staff
All really friendly and helpful. You kinda get the impression they're all there to work the season and spend most of their day skiing which is fair enough, that's what we're all there for after all, but there wasn't any sense of permanent / senior management or anyone being bothered by the state of the place, which is probably what it needs.
