We skied the week before Christmas. When dropped off from the coach it was a climb up some steep steps through some other buildings to get to the hotel. No one comes to Tignes for the architecture and the hotel is damn ugly and the rooms are small, but they are clean and warm. The bar is also small for the number of guests but the happy hour is very reasonably priced for Tignes. The lifts are tiny and antiquated but we were on the top floor so braved them!
The hotel's saving graces are the fantastic location, reasonable price, well cooked top quality food (although don't try to eat before 8.30pm if you like a calm atmosphere) and very friendly and genuinely helpful Swedish staff.
If you love skiing in Tignes but are not one of the super-rich it is a good choice.
