We stayed here on a weekend break and chose it quite last minute. The location was great, just a stones throw from town and the nearest ski lift but the hotel is old and could really do with a refurb - handles falling off doors and general upkeep poor! It seems we were given a disabled access room, and whilst the bathroom was generous, the room itself was very small. Getting there at the start was also a trek, the hotel is set out as a bit of a maze. The keys didn't work on two attempts, and trips back and forth to reception is a little infuriating when all you want to do on a Friday night is check in, then go out! We had booked a double but got a twin. No breakfast included in the rate made this a pricey stay.

Well, believe it or not we came to la clusaz for a business meeting. It was a long journey down by train, and we arrived very early in the morning after a fairly sleepless night. We had an external facilitator for this team building event and she was probably the worst least empathetic communicator I have ever met. We rolled bleary-eyed and a bit frazzled off the coach and she was all over us like a rash, trying to hurry us along and get us into th meeting room to start. We all decided the meeting would start once we'd all showered and had coffee and not before - not a great start! Anyway, the hotel is a lovely setting, and la clusaz is a very satisfying place, and good for ski-ing, so my colleagues who skied told me. We did all sorts of cool stuff, including snow shoeing, going in a half track up to a shepherds croft and eating home made goats cheese, and a memorable journey to a restaurant you'd normally only get on skis (we had skidoos and a snowtrak), then we were all given what looked to me like a small wooden tray, and told to luge our way down the piste - great fun!
Anyway, food in the hotel was nice, pretty rustic mountainy stuff, the interior of the hotel did look a bit dated to me, but that might just have been the style for a ski-lodge type place I don't know. I shared a room with a mate, so a twin, which wasn't huge, no minibar, and not much to write home about.
Anyway, we had a great time there anyway. Mountains were amazing.

The hotel is comfortable if a little dated. Even though we had a family room (there was only two of us), the room was still quite small. Good location, right in centre so easy access to bars and restaurants.

If going to La Clusaz I would recommend that you go for breakfast at the 'chocolatier/salon du the' by Hotel Christina - coffee, juice, bread and jam, plus two pastries for 7 Euros - which is a bargain compared to hotel breakfast prices!

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of company meeting. Everything was clean and neat, the food was good and plentiful, and the staff friendly and helpful. As with most of La Clusaz, English is nobody's first language and not most people's second either. There always seemed to be someone at the desk or in the restaurant who spoke passable English and did their best to answer my questions and make me feel welcome.

Depending on what you're used to, the rooms may seem small. I thought they were appropriately cozy for a mountain village and had plenty of space to store everything.
