“Nice, friendly, basic hotel with friendly atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

Stayed here from 8 fen 2011.

Booked through ski bound, usually do school hols. Although there was a small school there prob only 50/50 and kids not intrusive.

Hotel is in a pretty good location, with cage lifts 2 min walk away and you can ski back to that point too. Close to town centre, and great views from rooms and dining room.

Relaxed feel to the hotel with friendly staff and we met some really great people while there.

Food was very good too, you all dine at same time, creating a good atmosphere. There is also a small bar area with sofas and a fire.

Rooms - basic and bland, but how much time do you spend in there on a ski hol? Bathrooms were newly returned and clean.

Ski area - snow was in limited supply but there was enough on pistes and a week of sunshine can't be sniffed at. I could imagine that with decent snow the off piste could be very good as very open runs and mountain. There is also a reasonable (not huge) board park near bottom of main lifts that is easy to do laps through.

Great hol in all.

“Fab hotel. Brillaint staff. Would stay again.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

Hotel was in a good location to all the bars, restaurants. A small walk to the ski lifts but not difficult. All staff were very welcoming, and helpful. Ski tech was really nice and helpful as had to change my ski's, which is all on site. Food was really good, best we have every had on a ski holiday. Very good vegetarian options. Rooms were basic but spacious, need a little more attention to cleaning. but comfortable bed and pillows which is essential on a ski holiday.

“Great value for money with good sized rooms and very good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

We stayed from the 6th Feb. 2011 for 1 week, four friends, from Gatwick.
Rooms are a great size with a good size bathroom and extra bed, we had a balcony which catched the sun in the evening, rooms where clean and tidy and bins emptied daily.
The hotel was only a short walk from two lifts and a piste ran opposite for the run home.
Food was good, breakfast was buffet (could do with more eggs) and the evening meal was three courses with a veg option. The portion sizes did vary between a people which was a shame.
The staff are fantastic, very good at their jobs, one of the best customer services we have had in a hotel. Very informative and nothing was too much trouble...so thanks guys you helped make our stay a great holiday!
Overall I would recommend this hotel as for the money it was great value and one of the better hotels we have stayed in for the price.

“Great Hotel, Food and Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

We stayed in the Vallee Blanche over the New Year period with Skibound. We were very impressed with the hotel. Our original room didn't have a bath, but we were quickly moved to a lovely room with a large patio window looking onto a stunning mountain view. The rooms seemed to have been recently rerfurbished, with new carpets and curtains, and new bathroom fixtures and tiles. Breakfast was a good continental buffet including lovely pain chocolat, dinner was a fixed menu (with a veggie option), with wine included. The dining room had lovely mountain views too. The hotel had its own in-house ski supply, with good quality equipment. The ski and boot rooms were handy for the front door. The bar area was comfortable and warm with lots of nice comfy leather sofas. Drinks were reasonably priced, particularly during happy hour. They did a very nice Vin Chaud! The one downside was the walk to the lifts (probably only 4 minutes or so), but part of the walk was down a set of steps which were pretty slippy when snowy or icy. We walked half way down, then put our skis on the skiied to the chair lift which made things a bit easier. When returning to the hotel, you could either walk back up the steps or ski to the car park beside the church and walk back to the hotel (missing the steps!). We found the mountain restaurants rather expensive, but enjoyed lovely pizzas at the middle station of the bucket lift at a small pizza place under Inter Sport. We also enjoyed the Clubhotel Beausoleil at the bottom of the piste, which had very reasonably priced burgers and sandwiches. Overall a great holiday. Hello to Chris and Jane if you are reading this!

“Great Value and fantastic staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

La Vallee Blanche provided us with an excellent base for our skiing trip. It is ideally located only 100m from 2 lifts taking you directly to the slopes in around 5 minutes. Our room was clean with a great balcony offering fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The bathroom had been recently renovated to a high standard and was cleaned daily. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and offered many handy tips about the area and ski routes. The food is excellent and the 3 course evening meal came with half a carafe of wine which was always welcomed after a hard day on the slopes. Alpe D'Huez is a great resort for all abilities and we'd highly recommend Vallee Blanche to anyone looking for great value skiing.
