We stayed in the Vallee Blanche over the New Year period with Skibound. We were very impressed with the hotel. Our original room didn't have a bath, but we were quickly moved to a lovely room with a large patio window looking onto a stunning mountain view. The rooms seemed to have been recently rerfurbished, with new carpets and curtains, and new bathroom fixtures and tiles. Breakfast was a good continental buffet including lovely pain chocolat, dinner was a fixed menu (with a veggie option), with wine included. The dining room had lovely mountain views too. The hotel had its own in-house ski supply, with good quality equipment. The ski and boot rooms were handy for the front door. The bar area was comfortable and warm with lots of nice comfy leather sofas. Drinks were reasonably priced, particularly during happy hour. They did a very nice Vin Chaud! The one downside was the walk to the lifts (probably only 4 minutes or so), but part of the walk was down a set of steps which were pretty slippy when snowy or icy. We walked half way down, then put our skis on the skiied to the chair lift which made things a bit easier. When returning to the hotel, you could either walk back up the steps or ski to the car park beside the church and walk back to the hotel (missing the steps!). We found the mountain restaurants rather expensive, but enjoyed lovely pizzas at the middle station of the bucket lift at a small pizza place under Inter Sport. We also enjoyed the Clubhotel Beausoleil at the bottom of the piste, which had very reasonably priced burgers and sandwiches. Overall a great holiday. Hello to Chris and Jane if you are reading this!
