The location of this hotel is wonderful. Easy parking. Right across from the Hotel de Ville and the Tourist bureau and an easy walk to the Island and the old town. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful from the front desk to the staff in the halls. The room was very clean and while not large, wasn't a postage stamp either. However, it had four things wrong. It had only one electrical outlet available for the whole room. None in the bathroom (although it did have a hair dryer) and one by the window. When I went to talk with the management, they said they were working on this and were redoing the rooms floor by floor. The wifi was by Orange and was very slow. I tried to do a skype call using the computer and couldn't connect at all. There is only one towel per guest- so no hand towels and no kleenex. When I talked with the management, she said these last three issues were true of all the Ibis'. I have no idea how accurate that is, but if it is, they need to reconsider their policies. We were only in Martigues one night as an easy access to the Marseille airport. We thought the city very inviting and certainly worth doing again. So overall, we would go back to the hotel because of the staff, the location, the ease of arrival and the relatively pleasant rooms. But the wifi and electrical outlet problems are major issues, especially if the hotel considers itself important for the business world.
