We stayed for three nights in Istres while visiting Camargue, Provence, and surroundings. The rooms are recently renovated and each is decorated with a different theme - we had oriental and pop-art decorated, adjacent rooms, one with a balcony. The rooms are very pleasant, but the bathrooms really need to be updated - good thing that they were actually redoing some of the lower floor bathrooms while we were there. Nice outdoor pool on-site, with facilities for barbecue and free wifi in the rooms. The rooms were cleaned every day, but not with much care. I could see dust on the white furnitrue/appliances and circle marks from the shampoo bottles in the bathroom. The price was unbeatable, though, half of everything else. Location is also good - within 1-1.5 hrs. drive you're in Avignon, Aix, or Camargue. Really nice restaurants on the lake (you need to drive 5 min), for breakfast go to a boulangerie or cafe in the old city - the on-site breakfast is a little expensive (EUR10). If we're in Istres, we'll stay here again.

This is a nice small hotel in Istres. It is clean and comfy. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is nice to sit outside by the pool and have a beer or two in the evening before heading out for a civiized meal.

Having stayed at this hotel for 11 weeks in the last year, we just keep going back. It's pleasant, located in a quiet area with very friendly and helpful staff.

All rooms are air conditioned and nicely decorated and sitting around the pool terrace of an evening with beer or wine is the only way to see in the night!

A local family fun hotel who care about the guests, certainly my top Istres choice!

I stayed at the Hotel le Mirage for a month while working in Istres. Though this occurred more than 2 years ago, I am taking the opportunity to write this review now because I just joined Trip Advisor and this is one of the better hotel experiences that I have ever had. That says a lot, considering how much I travel.

The quality of the hotel was very good and the staff were exceptional. It is a family run hotel where the owner and his wife take great care to make their guests comfortable and happy. I do not speak French and they went to great lengths to help me feel welcome and even connected me with local merchants to make my stay easier and more pleasant.

The room was very nice, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and had a nice balcony where I could sit and read while listening to the breeze blow through the trees. The grounds were very nice and the buildings were well kept. There was a nice pool, but I was not able to use it because it was November.

At one point during my stay there was a small problem with my room and the staff took care of it immediately.

Breakfast was very nice and always available early enough to meet my early work schedule.

Access to town, restaurants, shopping, etc. is good.

Everything about this hotel is nice, but what makes it special is the people. I hope to get the chance to stay there again someday.
