A friend and I toured for 3 months visiting 8 different countries in Eastern and Western Europe and this was by far the worst place we stayed in on the whole trip.
The owner seemed more interested in serving fast food to passing customers or chatting to her friends in the bar than welcoming or assisting her guests. She made little effort to communicate with us throughout our stay, luckily we could speak some basic French but other guests were left to struggle when it came to dealing with the staff.
This property is essentially a fast food cafe with a run-down chalet hotel attached. We did not get the type of room we requested. Rooms are tiny with lights and television which barely work, the bathroom had no door and the shower had no curtain or any means of holding the shower head in place, which means that water goes everywhere and soaks the threadbare towels. Rooms are packed in and there is constant noise from doors banging and the busy main road right outside.
The breakfast was overpriced and almost as small as the room. In the end we left early to find somewhere more hospitable, the owner took exception to this and started arguing at us, we were not given any receipt and found out some time later that as a parting gesture they had overcharged our credit card!
An appalling experience which discredits the owner's trade and nation. And I am disappointed but not surprised to read from the other reviews that I am not the only person, Irish, French or English, to feel this way about this hotel and its owners.
