Having been to this hotel for the first time in 2009 and having just come back from a 15 night stay on half board i felt compelled to write a review because the last review made in 2007 is out of date and the report was so bad and quite different to our own experience that we felt in fairness to the hotel we should put the other point of view,
The hotel location is spectacular being on high ground and looking down on the long sandy beach at Le Lavandou and across to the Islands in the distance. The rooms are very clean. There is an ample supply of towels which are automatically changed daily. The rooms have a safe and minibar. There is ample space for parking and a private garage can be booked if required. A small shop is nearby which sells everything and if you want an English newspaper you can reserve one.
The hotel is and has been run by the same family for many years. They really make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. They have a good chef. We would describe the cooking as good family cuisine and very good food . We enjoyed every meal without exception. They offer a choice of two starters and two main courses plus a dessert. The choice is limited but they make up for it in the cooking and presentation. Expect to put on a lot of weight!
IN summary- wonderful location, good facilities and garden, parking, good cooking and bedroom accommodation all wrapped up with a great friendly personal service. What more could you ask for?
