Good points -
Fabulous setting, friendly and helpful reception staff, Cedric (should be employee of the year as he is so courteous and helpful) who looks after you at the pool, one of the bar staff, restaurant entrees and main courses. The reduction in cost for complaining about the noise from the wedding and the maid.
Bad points -
The impression of some of the staff that guests are an inconvenience that are tolerated, there is little customer service maybe a training programme is needed?
Rooms that look clean but then you notice, mould spots on the curtains, cobwebs, rust stains, very hard towels.
Don't have a room below the restaurant especially if there is a wedding on! Not being able to book restaurant for first 2 nights as fully booked?! and wedding.
No "Do not disturb" sign for room doors so woken 3 days by room maid. On one occasion our teenage daughter was asked to get up out of bed so the maid could make her bed!
Restaurant staff who place a tray of green liquid and croutons with 2 pots of mashed up stuff on your table and do not tell you what it is and are so unhelpful when asked to explain what we are eating.
Cost of breakfast, we had it one day and it was Ok but not worth 24€
Cost of hotel taxi to St Clair and back was 30€ (cost from Le Lavandou in private taxi was 10€)
Lack of local tourist information e.g. the little train, restaurants, buses (not all of us have maseratis or equivalent) and want to experience the local culture.
The overall expererience is one of a hotel that may have in the past been 4 star but now due to the decor and the staff, leaves you wondering what you paid all that money for, other than the setting. Worth the money? No way.
One for the TV show The Hotel Inspector.
