“Great place, so-so hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

Before you get in your room everythings seems to be perfect: A stylish website, nice pictures, perfect location next to the bay of Cassis, good prices, nice terrasse with an amazing view of the Côte d'Azur…what can you expect more?
Unfortunatly when you get into your room, real life welcomes you.
It is not really what you expected: The bathroom smells strange, not renovated, old style, on the bacony the long chair was broken and we could't use, the rest of the funitures looked a-like. The bed was very small for two, the fridge was old and ugly.
The waitress in the restaurant in the morning were more busy with talking to each other than taking care of their guest: We waited to the bread and on the next table the piguins came to eat the rest of the bread of other guests.

All in all: We got an older room without discount and the hotel sells itself better than it is and for that, it is too expensive.
We also informed the friendly lady at the reception about that and she really gave the impression that she will take care of it which is a plus. Hopefully she will do so otherwise it's not a big joy to return.

We were the in September and got an parking spot (payed) on the parking place very easily but in the high season you should come very early or late. The city with the harbor can be reached within 5 minutues which is very conveniend.

“Location location location (good hotel too!)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

I can't understand how this hotel is so far down the ranks for cassis. It's location is incredible and it is a very good hotel too. We had a small room but the view was to die for we could lie on the bed and watch the sun rise above the sea and towering cliffs. Service was excellent staff very helpful. Hotel is nicely done up. Breakfast is adequate - it's nice to find a hotel in France where breakfast is included. Overall can't recommend this enough.

“Nice location but lacks some service”

The Hotel is perfectly located, just across the street from the Beach! The Hotel is renovated, rooms are nice and the brunch was very good. The view is very nice as well.

On the minus side, the price is too expensive for what it is (it seems to be common in Cassis vs. the rest of Provence) , they only have 10 parking spots for 2 hotels and no valet (you need to put your car in the nearby municipal parking, come back to pay and carry your own luggage). There was loud music until 2 am in the restaurant next to us and we felt the staff wasn't very helpful in giving us tips on the Calanques and Restaurants in Cassis.

We still enjoyed it for Cassis.

“Lovely location”

The location of this hotel simply couldn't be better. You are right across the road from the beach - a pebble beach, bring water shoes - and the sea views are magnificent. A good continental breakfast is included and they will even bring it to your room so you can eat on the balcony. My biggest complaint about the hotel was that the room got stuffy. We were warned that the room type we wanted (double room with sea view and shower) didn't have AC, but assumed that wouldn't be an issue since the temp wasn't supposed to be highs in the 70's. I would recommend maybe getting a room with AC, but I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Outstanding view, friendly service, close to beach, would stay there again and again”

We had seen mixed reviews and only booked this hotel for one night out of the three that we stayed in Cassis. I would have stayed all three nights if possible. Yes, there is a 2 lane road between the hotel and beach - but we heard the surf quite clearly - and the cars were less frequent at night. We were overwhelmed by the view from our terrace, #14. The restaurant next door was closed and my sisters heart condition prevented the inclined walk to town on our first night. The desk manager arranged to have Tex Mex delivered to us by motorbike - with a few Heinekins from the bar - we had one of the best meals - and views you could ask for. (I'm from Texas - this Tex Mex had a definite Provence flair and was delicious.) In addition, he arranged for plates, cuttlery and napkins - beyond service. The next morning, after a night sleeping t the sounds of the surf, breakfast was delivered to our room. The price is up there - but we were not disappointed.
