“What's happened to the legendary buffets?”

Little to say about the accommodation...... standard Campanile, but the situation in the restaurant really prompted me to write a review as I have stayed in four Campaniles in the last twelve months or so and have been gradually getting more and more disillusioned with them. A few years ago we always used them as stopover hotels, mainly because of the consistently excellent buffet food. These recent trips, however, and particularly this one at Rochefort, proved to be very disappointing. The buffet (particularly the savoury one) is now a shadow of what it was. In fact at Rochefort there wasn't even a chef as he was ill and I had to keep going over to a waiter to ask him for bread etc.
I think we will be looking at other chains in future.
