“We loved it and will be back!”

We stopped at Chatelleraut on our way from Le Havre to Bordeaux. The town itself is nice and has a good food market on saturday morning.
We contacted Godeleine Peteul via a google search. She sent us very good directions. When we arrived the property was very central with parking outside. We entered via a large green gate. The house was really lovely (100 years old) with a huge, very peaceful garden. Godeleine was very welcoming. She showed us to our rooms which were at the top of the house. (We travelled with our 2 daughters). The house was beautifully decorated and the rooms were also lovely. We had a harp in our room.
Godeleine invited us downstairs for drinks after we had taken our luggage up.
In the morning we awoke and were treated to a breakfast of all homemade preserves, bread, waffles and a variety of fruit. My children especially liked the homemade waffles and ate all of them!
There is also free wi-fi at the property.
I would definately recommend this accomodation and would like to stay there again.
The host and hostess are both friendly and welcoming. They sat for a long time with us telling us about the area and answering our questions. Their english is also good. A great welcome to france!

“Great Chambre D'hote - Lovely, Rooms, Great Garden, Super Hosts”

We were touring through France on motorbikes and arrived in Chatterault on the afternoon of 12th May 2011. A quick trip to the tourist office who recommended La Dulciniere, which is right in the centre of town and at about 80 Euros per room B&B sounded like good value. The tourist office very helpully booked thhe rooms for us and gave us directions and off we went to find the house. We had a little trouble, as it was not clearly signed on the street, but eventually we knocked on large green arched door and were greeted by the hostess, Mdme Peteul. She was very friendly and isisted that we brought our motorbikes through the hallway to the courtyard to park them safely overnight. We were impressed straight way that she'd go to so much trouble. She then gave us a nice cold beer, which hit the spot given that it was almost 30 degrees that day. Then she showed us the rooms and suggested that we take our pick. We were shown a newly converted studio room in the courtyard and then three other rooms at the top of the house. We opted for the rooms at the top of the house, one of which was ensuite, but there was also a bathroom (with shower), a separate toilet and a washroom on the same floor , so it suited us perfectly. Mdme Peteul then gave us the key to the front door and left us to it. The shower was great and the rooms very spacious and clean. We all had a great nights sleep and woke up to be presented with a large selection of options for what was a lovely breakfast, with Mr & Mdme Peteul and another guest. We had a great convesation with our hosts and we found them genuinley interested in chatting to us. They even waved us off as we left on a beautiful sunny morning. I'd have no hesitation in recomming Le Dulciniere and thought is was great value for money, with very friendly hosts (who spoke good english) and was in a great location close to the centre of town. check it out on www.ladulciniere.fr
