My family and I were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I chose it because of its position of 2nd best hotel in the area, and I was not disappointed. It has a great location, close to the main routes and perfect for the park.
On a previous visit to Futuroscope I stayed in the Novotel, but due to the difference in price, and requiring 2 rooms this time, we decided on a cheaper option - hoping not to compromise on quality.
Although the hotel has a lower star rating, it is of a very high standard. It is bright, airy and friendly. The hotel has 2 restaurants, both offering lovely, well-prepared food, with great service.
The level of English spoken at the reception and in the restaurants was good, and with little French you could have made yourself understood. The translation of the menu into English is slightly dubious, but understandable. The staff were willing to help with translation the best they could. We had a good laugh with them.
Ordered 2 double rooms, and ended up with 2 triple rooms - 1 double and 1 single. Rooms were of a high standard, flat screen tv, a/c, desk, and a view of Futuroscope out of the window. Bathroom was reasonable spacious, with powerful shower. The rooms were well-serviced each day, with fresh linen and towels.
Both restaurants do not open until 7pm, so do not aim for an early evening meal. The "Piscine" restaurant overlooks the outdoor swimming pool, but has tinted glass so that you do not feel like you are being watched. The set menu offers good value, with several options for starter, main and pudding, including dish of the day options. There is also an a la carte menu which would work out as more expensive but obviously offers more choice. A minor problem with staying for 3 nights was that the menu was a little boring by the 3rd night if you wanted to stick with the set menu for value. The pizza restaurant offered a large range of pizzas, but not much else. If you wanted to be a bit more adventurous with food, there were other restaurants nearby, or hotels you could try.
Breakfast buffet at 11euros is a bit steep, but there was a large continental breakfast on offer. The usual croissants, pastries, fruit, meat and cheeses and bread. Also cereals, apple compote, yoghurts and dried fruit.
The bar has a good range of spirits and cocktails, as well as coffees and hot chocolate, etc. The seating area was relaxed and well-kept, with easy chairs arranged in 3s and 4s.
The swimming pool, although not large, was welcome after a long day at the park. At its deepest it is only shoulder height, with a large shallow area as well - and so its perfect for children, and for a dip. Perhaps not so good for the more experienced swimmer, but still usable for some lengths.
There was a high-level of customer service, shown at its best when I left a pair of shoes behind in the room. When I rang several days later from the next stop of the holiday, they promptly checked with the cleaning manager and located the shoes. They then promised to look after them for me until I was able to collect them a week later.
I found this to be a friendly hotel, able to balance its role as a themepark hotel and a conference hotel, and offer something for everyone to enjoy.
