We stayed on GROUND FLOOR rooms, where the only window was also a door leading straight to an unsupervised car park. So the only way to get any air at all into the room (incl the bathroom) was by opening an outer door. If it had been a warm night, we would have had to sleep with the outside door open in order to breathe. How unsafe is that! Also the bath was dirty (I cat-washed because of it), and the rooms are small and dingy. The location is great - I could walk wearing my cozzie and a towel, straight to the lovely sandy beach and go for a swim in the sea.

Can't believe the great reviews some people have given this hotel! I guess it goes to show some people aren't fussy and will accept poor quality.

If you want to be close to the Calais beach and are only after a place to sleep this hotel is OK - although there must be cheaper ones to choose.

We stopped in a small room (42) on the first floor 'decorated' with lovely burnt orange coloured walls. Downstairs (where other people we were with had their rooms) they have been 'renovated' to a pea green colour... although the dirty carpet tiles remain!

In our room the wardrobe was small with only 4 hangers and was in an awkward place, and there were no drawers. There was no main light - only 2 small bedside type ones. The bathroom was small, white and very plain. Oh and it had no lock!

The breakfast is expensive with little choice. I didn't bother having it on the second day. The evening meals are ok but nothing special.

The reception staff (who don't speak great English) didn't seem to understand the issue with our bills and I'm sure some of our party were overcharged for drinks.

Good points? Well the waiters working in the restaurant work hard, long hours and are friendly and cheerful.

The rack rate was 60 euro but we only paid 34 euro by booking ahead on the web. The bathroom was pretty grotty with mildew in the corners of the bath, but the bed was comfortable, there was a spare blanket and two extra pillows in the wardrobe, and a kettle, tea/coffee and biscuits. The room had a nice view of the sea and it was clean. Despite the nasty bathroom, I would unhesitatingly recommend it at the price we paid - I'd be a bit upset if I paid 60 euro though. We'll certainly use it again as we like to be able to see the sea.

Just stayed for a 1 night break in Calais for x-mas shopping. Booked this hotel because of the pics and reviews.

The hotel was SUPERB!!!!! Great views of calais port & the beach. The room was very modern and well equipped in a modern medium oack wood and red style. Shower was VERY powerful and the bathroom was average. The room was large in size not very small with a great view. Bed was a king size which was VERY comfortable.

I could relax because parking was right under my room so i could check on my car. The staff were very friendly and polite, so no problems.

This is the Kyriad group so DO NOT EXPECT PURE LUXURY! They are a very modern comfortable hotel group like Travel Lodge in the UK.

Overall VERY nice rooms and very nice service VERY HAPPY WITH THE WHOLE STAY!

Some people complained about the rooms they got. It is simple! IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY YOUR ROOM WHEN YOU BOOK,YOU GET THE WORST ROOM!!!!!!!

I specified that i wanted a top floor room facing the port view. So i got room 44 which was AMAZING!!!!!! The central heating was spot on and very warm and comfortable!!!!
