Stayed one night after a quick shopping trip to Calais, on arrival we were checked in by a friendly receptionist, who spoke excellent English, we did not have to provide crediti card details or passport information, just given a key and directed to our room. The room was quite basic reminiscent of a Campanile (Not surprising in France) but very clean, as was the bathroom. There was a decent LCD flat screen TV which had plenty of French channels, and also English channels, BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4 reception a little fuzzy but perfectly watchable.
There is Tea and coffee making facilities in each room, but cups are very small plastic affairs (best take your own for a proper cuppa.
We had evening meal and Breakfast - Details below
Evening meal 15Euro for Buffet Starter, Freshly cooked main course, and Buffet desserts.
I had Steak with roquefort sauce, food was excellent quality and good value.
Breakfast was about 8 Euro (I think) and was exactly what you would expect in France - breakfast was OK - but too pricey in my opinion
All in all I would highly recommend the Cottage hotel for overnight stays in Calais
Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back - busy road at the front - take your own cups / mugs for drinks
