We booked four rooms for our party and were all pleased with the choice.
The carpet in the room looked in more appealing condition than most of my Holiday Inn experiences, although they were mostly before the grand refurbs, and with the spacious rooms help you to relax. The bathrooms were also appealing with no sign of mould on sealant. However, we could not run a bath as it seemed stuck on the shower setting, so I just took the showerhead off.
The bed was very comfortable for us (we are prone to sore backs) and at the top end of the Holiday Inn standard.
English TV choices are BBC1/2, ITV, BBC World, and CNN.
I agree the bar service was slow but staff were on hand around the corner in the restaurant - it was not a busy hotel the weekend we went.
The breakfast choice was wide with pastries, meats, cereal and 'hot' breakfast. However, as mentioned elsewhere it was only warm and the beans did not compare if you are used to UK standards.
A local attraction not to miss is Cap Blanc Nez about 3 miles down the road via Sangatte (then turn left at the T-junction and go up the hill). Here you have a magnificent view across the Channel and if you are lucky, like we were, on a sunny day with clear blue skies can very clearly see the white cliffs of Dover. This is more spectacular than looking at France from Dover Castle.
