This is a great little B&B in Calais. I was a bit nervous about booking it because there was only one review and it seemed like a new hotel. However, we were very happy with it and would definitely stay there again.
The proprietors are very nice and helpful and made our stay very pleasant. They speak a bit of English, but it's better if you speak a bit of French. But they are very nice about communication in English.
Apparently, the hotel is 8 months old (as of January 2009). The proprietors did the design and decoration of the four rooms, all themed from a different international city. The decor is very well done with lots of attention to detail. We stayed in the Agadir room, which was very spacious, complete with incense, Moroccan tea and a large bathtub in which two could fit comfortably. We loved the room. The only thing I would change would be to put some privacy around the toilet. It's in the room, but it's not privately separated from the room. If you don't mind this, then it's totally romantic and dreamy. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The breakfast room was also very lovely. And the prices were remarkably low; they could easily charge 50% more and it would be worth it.
I would and will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
