This is not for anyone with problems climbing stairs or needing a lot of luxury. It has a lot of history and is reminiscent of the way basic French hotels operated 40 years ago. Pack a very light overnight bag as you will have to carry it a long way and up flights of stairs. The reviews are accurate but the evening and early morning on Mont Saint Michel are more than worth the lack of comfort. If you like living the past and aren't as attached to modern convenience then you will enjoy the experience. The Internet connection on my iPad was excellent and the room wasn't as much dirty as small and dark. The menu is very expensive for what you get . There are better alternatives near by. But it is all about the omelette which has been very famous for more than a century and has drawn countless celebrities since the 19th century. They use a secret recipe and method that results in a very ligh foamy omelette that is eaten plain so as not to make it overly heavy.
